Minor update last night? (9/11)

The minor update last night seems to have added the audible AWS indication to external 'train following' views (i.e. not '4' or '8').

Does anyone know if anything else has changed?

I'm personally grateful for this one as I often swap between views '1', '2' and '3'.

My class 390 pack now has an install date of today, so I guess that was also updated to enable the Drive By Train feature?

Certainly not as far as steam locos are concerned, am still getting shutdown of driven train sound and the train coming to a stand, in the Western Bulleid Part 2 scenario on the Oxford to Paddington route, when driving headout which one has to do as there is no decent forward cabview.

I'm glad I spotted this post.

I thought it was just me but I was sure we used to get the AWS sound outside the cab.

Just to be sure. . . Can someone confirm that bewfore RW2 we had AWS sound on outside cab on ALL engines that support AWS and after we did not. I wsa not sure if it was specific to the engine you were using or if all engines had the AWS outside cab.

I find it difficult to drive the flying scotsman on anything other than head out view as the cab view has very poor visibility.

Not as far as I remember Jim. I think it's never been audible except in camera 1 view.

Ditto. I believe that if the view was moved over to the left you would get it 'clipping' parts of the cab when you panned around. That's what happens when I use my modified Tornado view anyway and as the Scotsman cab is very similar ....... RSC seem to be going for looks rather than practicality in these cases.

With the present view if I move and pan around some parts of the cab vanish, the safety edge on the cab entrance for example.

So far as I recall from a driving session yesterday the AWS alarm is still inaudible when leaning out of the cab.

Not a real problem for me though, I would have to say as I tend to drive steam in-cab so that I can keep a close eye on the cylinder pressure guage, only looking out when I have to for sighting signals, stopping and such like. The track ahead window (route knowledge) in the new HUD now makes this method all the easier. I still use the keyboard for the controls though as the mouse levers dont do it for me. Also, if you are looking out then surely you will be able to see both the signal and the AWS magnet so should know when the alert is going to sound and be ready for it.

From a realism point of view I wonder, given the sheer noise in a moving steam locomotives cab, wether a driver would have been able to hear the alert if he were leaning out. Though I'm sure the fireman would have drawn his attention to it.
