controlling attached locomotives ?

Post by orangzeb »

How to control the attached locomotive(s) ? When I switch to them using Ctrl+- and Ctrl+= if I press any shortcut key then the main locomotive reacts...

+ every time when scenario overs I get 0.000% wheel slippage.. Strange

Hi,

To control an "attatched" locomotive, the train must be stationary for you to change cabs.

Hope this helps,

Dark.

Double-headed trains usually work as expected without you doing anything special.
The key to knowledge is not to rely on others to teach you it.

Hi,

Although it sounds like the second locomotive is idling and doing nothing when you are driving double headers the second locomotive is working in multiple, Railworks just does not render the sounds for the second loco. Same applies for banking loco's, the loco on the end of the consist will sound like it is idling but it is putting in the work. Easy to test, enter a free roam scenario and hook up a loco to a very large goods consist, 25 or overwagons preferably loaded. Drive to any incline on the route and stop then pull away. Repeat the process with two loco's attached and you will see the difference. Locomotive sounds for all loco's in a consist to be implemented in Railworks is on most people's wish list I think, some inroads are being made. I think RSC fixed it in RW 2 so that now both power cars in an HST set now have working sounds. The Fag Packet HST DLC on Steam (Gold & green livery) also has working sounds on both HST's, The Iron Horse House Class 57 also has this feature and the Armstrong Powerhouse HST (valenta) sound pack upgrade also has working sounds on the second HST. However I think Railworks 2 may have broken the Armstrong HST (Valenta) sound pack as I've noticed now that I have only working loco sounds on the lead power car of my HST's now  )
