RW2 and Speed Limit Signs

Post by RsDany »

Hi all, I have one problem with RW2.
First, it's about my route, and my Speed Limit Signs.
On picture you can see, on new "window/menu" don't exist the Speed Limit, which Speed Limit Sign is front of train and showing "20" km/h, only I see the Signals in menu.
But, if I place New Speed Limit Sign, then show up in window only that sign which I place it on the track. That is only in my route. So, what is that. Is the something with update?

You probably need to edit your speed signs so that they appear in the track view. This is a new feature in RW2.

I found the problem.
No one Speed Sign working in that way.
You can see that if my Speed Sign are near the occupied track, and links of my sign are out of occupied track, then don't appear in the track view, because the train and the link of sign must be on same track (occupied track).

(Why I place signs like that? because in the Croatia exist a special sign which indicating the speed limit (predsignal), and is located about 200m before the speed limit. That showing only a number of next speed limit.
And at the beginning of speed limit must be set the deferent sign, which is a little different and there is no number. That only showing that speed limit beginning right there.)

So, what do you think, whether Kuju repair that someday?
Until then I will have to restate my Speed Signs - delete the links and type in number manualy.

Could you place a second speed sign at the point where the limit actually changes (perhaps hidden)?

Do you want the speed limit on the track view displayed at the "next speed limit" sign or at the "beginning of speed limit" sign?

It is not necessary now. I made.

Exactly that. :D Before just when you've sent the post, I thought the same.
On picture bellow the first sign are Speed Limit Beginning, and second sign are End of Speed Limit (Second are not important here).
I just leave the Speed Signs (predsignal) like they are, and I only change the blueprint of left signal from picture - "Speed Limit Beginning", from the Scenery Blueprint to Speed Limit Blueprint, then I set the link on track where is speed limit and that is it. Now that number appear in the track view :)

Thank you :)

Now I have one sign unrelated with last.

This sign will be for slope track. Will be like Scenery Blueprint, but must have primary and secondary characters.
And I need the window like on "Signal Blueprint" (picture bellow), but if I set that sign like signal blueprint, they will show me everytime the signal in Track Profile in Driving Interface, right?

So, if exist some another blueprint which have this window - for primary and secondary characters (except Signal Blueprint)?
Or maybe I can do that like Signal Blueprint, just turn off that signal to not show in Driving Interface?

You mean something like this (UK type): http://www.railsigns.co.uk/sect24page1/sect24page1.html

I can't find anything like that in the default assets, though it would be very useful if there was and it could read the gradient directly from the track.

Could you hack it together from a speed sign with dual speed limits?

(You need to stop assuming that I actually know stuff! :P )

Yes, I mean like that.
But no ! Pleeease, don't looking the sign. It is impossible to make that (read the gradient directly from the track, how I know).
I allready have that grade signs, look at my last post here:
http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... a&start=30
But that is old version (all numbers are primary there).

Now I will separate them, it will be primary numbers up, and secondary numbers down.

So, please don't look how I made them, just Keep in mind that will be manually Data Entry.
And now when set that sign on track, I see it in driving interface (like signal) how to I move that. Is possible to make script to move that sign from Driving intervace, or create another blueprint which have box for entry prim. and sec. numbers?

Do you want to remove it from the driving HUD?

The simple (though clunky) method would be to put the link on a hidden piece of track.

Yes, I want to remove it from the driving HUD.
I must set the link of that sign on other track or?
But, where is that hidden piece of track? :D Tell me how do you mean that.

Create a short piece of track, link the sign to that piece of track, then sink the track into the ground so that the track is hidden.
