Okay, I've found something with RW2 that I'm less than pleased with: previously, when one hit "pause", one could then compose one's screenshot to be 'just so'.

Now, however, a dirty great big menu box appears in the middle of the screen asking if I want to save, quit, go to the editor... Grr.

Either way it was uncalled for
Believe me, I'm familiar with the thread, Stephen...

I just wanted someone to show *exactly* where the accusation was made, 'cause I never saw anything of the sort...

Rik.
It was a suggestion that those with missing assetts had obtained them from torrent sites or via file sharing etc
As I say unacceptable and it took several members by surprise
Kind regards Stephen

Like I said, I never saw anything like that directed specifically, or even generally, at anyone here. What I *did* see was a statement that should anyone, be it here or anywhere else, be stupid enough to use pirated content and expect support, then they won't get any.

I'd have been far more blunt, frankly.

And, as I say, show me where this was said, rather than repeating what seems purely to be an unfounded allegation. I've just been back through that thread to where the topic was first broached and I can see no accusation whatsoever.

Sorry, but if there's one thing that I can't stand, it's inequality. If there's another thing I can't stand, it's band-wagon jumping.

Ok, I'm probably going to get banned for this, but I can't allow this 'it never happened, noone said that' hand-waving to continue unquestioned:

That one, right there, where Darpor flat out hints that someone has gotten it illegitimately. And no, adding 'I'm not pointing fingers' on the end doesn't make it ok

So it was me. Are you for real? :D

Note the "I am not pointing the finger at you" part. I was asking the question, thats all and apparently I should be severely reprimanded for it.

'Is Obama a muslim? I'm not saying he is, but ....'

That doesn't wash for Fox news, and it shouldn't wash here

Why haven't I been "severely reprimanded" then? Simply because I didn't accuse anyone of anything yet it is fine to accuse me of accusing when I haven't!

On the topic of "it's all broken, wahh, wahh", I hate to imagine what happens when some people nick themselves whilst shaving or spill their coffee...

Stuff that I've noted so far includes:
*SOME* DLC is not showing at all
RSC have acknowledged this and I hope all those who've pirated content stitch themselves right up in the process. For those of us with legit versions, I've no doubt RSC will fix it in due course.

*SOME* DLC is only partially showing (e.g. the Jubilee and the Pendolino)
RSC have acknowledged this, too. I'm in the same boat as Brian and others on this one. My thoughts on piracy remain the same (my actual thoughts I cannot publish here )

*SOME* people find the text too small to read
...but that doesn't mean that everyone does; I, for one, want to go on record as saying that I like it. It's neater. Mined ewe, it would be great to have it scale with resolution or even user-scalable, i.e. the user gets to choose the size... Incidentally, for those that are pursuing the "big monitor theory", a big monitor does not necessarily mean bigger text unless the resolution is constant.

*SOME* sounds seem to have been updated, others have not (HST sets in particular) -- there's some inconsistency here, I think: why not drop a brief but concise note to the support address so that they can work on it?

I would also add that, whilst there are a great many posts complaining about all and sundry, there are a number of other far more positive (and constructive) posts, too.

@Nelson

Sorry, what point are you failing to make, Dave?

Quoting a post of mine highlighting some of the problems that some are having in response to me saying that I don't like the menu popping up? Relevance?

OK people - I'm locking this thread for 24 hours until the playground antics have ceased and you guys have learned to live with each others' opinions. If you can't do that, other sanctions are available...

It's up to you, but either way, this sort of behaviour has to stop right now. If, following a review by the moderation team, people end up with holidays from the forums, you cannot say you weren't warned...

Right. 24 hours is up and, as promised, we are unlocking this thread. However, please note several members, on both sides of the argument have recieved short holidays for not keeping within the rules and the spirits of the UKTS forum. We will not tolerate the kind of behaviour that is becoming all to prevalant within the RW forums.
The thread is now open but please, keep it civil.

that is a VERY valid point. can't take a screenshot anymore, I like them to be perfect.

Conspiracy alert: maybe they did it so less people would win in their screenie competitions? :)
