I really like the resume feature, the new hud is ok, but seems a little too fussy imo, would prefer to have the ability to close things to make it a bit more streamlined, like the throttle/direction and brake lever and the menu. Seems to be working ok so far as far as SBHH errors are concerned, I was really happy it doesn't seem to have broken my scenarios I have been working on for a certain route.

Point your mousepointer to a coupling anywhere in a train and uncouple !
Point your mousepointer to a switch and it changes to a 'switch symbol so that you actually see that you 'touch' that switch.

Just noticed something else too? The overhead wires have been tinkered with and now look less "chunky" and the bends are connected to the OHLE! Cool :D

Just had a quick look, duno what they've done to it, but WOW now getting 70s to 80s fps, with the very occasional flick to 30s to 40s fps, amazing!!

Thanks for starting this thread Keith. I've had no problems with the upgrade yet either and having read the last three pages of the sixtythree in the moan thread, I couldn't be bothered to read anymore. The new HUD is OK for beginners or people who just find it easier to drive with the new controls but I'm pleased you have the choice to turn it off. This will be a winner with new commers to train simming and train driving. I also liked all the buttons on the HUD as well, it makes everything much easier to find. Still some issues to resolve but I'm going to delve deeper. Is there a list of all the things that have been changed by this update somewhere.

There are rebuild areas in the routes. I believe Oxford is one with new station buildings and a lot more. :D

A qualified post of happiness here: I like aspects of the new HUD; the signal display with the speed limits coming up is very cool. The HUD itself looks amateurish, as I feared it would from the previews, but hey, it at least functions as advertised. Using keys rather than pushing levers is definitely the way to go for me, though.

The rubber banding is still present and this is with frame rates between 45 and 120.

I can't quite see how there's enough here to call it RW2. Hell, even FIFA and Madden feature more than this each year although, to be fair, they're far from free. Still, I really cannot get my head around this being called a second version. And let's be honest, any version two that claims a working level crossing as a major new feature really ain't got that much to shout about :D

But hey, I had some good fun driving this evening despite the rubber banding, despite escape still not clearing pop-ups... so something, somewhere is clearly right and still manages to get me spending silly amounts of money on add-ons

Sorry. Should have said how happy I am for you. :D

I am happy that I can now select different weather for scenarios without having overlapping writing, making it semi-impossible to figure out what I'm doing.

Do I win a biscuit? :D :D

Well as one who never actually runs Railway simulators (probably comes from my youth when my motor-cycle spent more time in the garage with me 'improving' the engine), I have to admit to having actually completed a scenario in RW2.

Previously I had problems coupling/reversing/changing points, stopping at platforms etc I find the new HUD a joy to use. So from a personal point of view this is definitely a version two and a great step ahead. (And after only 3 years they have complied with my (among a few others) request for working level crossings :-) ).

Congratulations all round lads, definitely worth a few custard creams...
