Good evening chaps,
I would say flattery will get you no-where, however, it would appear that it does!
I have just uploaded my GW Mainline route

Click to view more informationGreat Western Main Line TS2012 [38751607 bytes] - GWML for TS2012.zip
File ID: 27592 Date: 10 Nov 2011 - 1600 Downloads

There is a big caveat attached!

Here's an extract from the readme file -

_________________________________________________________________________________
Great Western Main Line for Train Simulator 2012
by Keith Ross
V1.0
A new freeware route using the core Oxford to Paddington route and assets from West Coast Main Line North and North East Corridor - dependencies available on Steam.

Uploaded November 2011

The default Ox-Padd route has been copied and improved with the replacement of the default OLE assets with those developed for WCMLN, track textures have been replaced with those from both WCMLN and NEC, additional assets from both add-ons have been introduced on a limited basis and TS2012 lighting has been implemented on the full length of the route. A small extension has also been added providing access to the platforms at Heathrow Airport's 3 low level stations.

PLEASE NOTE; this freeware route was developed initially as a testbed for the new TS2012 features. As a result of this, the route is demanding on system resources due to the increased number of assets, particularly OLE related, and with the use of a very limited number of shadow casting lights.

Should you experience frame rate drops, SBHH errors or lock ups please consider lowering game settings or running the sim in legacy mode with TSX switched off.

This will install as a separate route; there is no requirement to backup or alter your existing Ox-Padd installation.

Existing Ox-Padd scenarios should function correctly on this route if ported over from the Ox-Padd folder manually, although not all of those available have been tested.

Further scenarios featuring payware stock will be made available separately in due course.

Please report any problems to the author on the UKTrainSim.com forum.
________________________________________________________________________________________

I hope you enjoy it.

A big thank you to all the guys kind enough to spare some time testing the route.

Best regards,
Keith

Not just the track, but the tunnels & stations etc. for Heathrow. :(

It's a great route in its own right, you'll be getting far more than just a bunch of required assets!

I can live without going to Heathrow; other than the track which shouldn't be hard to replace, what else is there from NEC?
My posts are my opinion, and should be read as such.

Fantastic news..... My word this is great....

Question is, some of us don't own NEC, so clearly there will be missing assets...(track & Stations), but the main question is if we don't own NEC, will this cause problems for the mainline from Paddington to Oxford? I'm downloading as I type, but I'm only intersted in the mainline, so I won't be venturing to Heathrow or anything. It's not that difficult to swap out NEC track for something else.... How much of NEC is addplied to the Mainline....?

This is what you get trying to get to Heathrow without NEC.

The rest of the route should be OK as long as you have WCML-N installed as it's required for certain assets, but not those from NEC.

So let me get this right... NEC is basically used for the Heathrow extension, and WCML-N used for the Mainline to Reading/Oxford?
