VR Simn(a finnish boxcar)

Post by SaMa1 »

After few hours of fighting with asset editor I managed to get the model into preview. This model was modelled in gmax by three different modellers as part of community freeware project. After the model was ready I transfered it to 3ds max and photoshop and textured and converted it into RW.

Next part is to get carriage blueprint to show the wagon in game. Also got that shadow to fix.

just what the doctor ordered. I have been waiting for ages for some Finnish rolling stock to go with the VR SR2 available. I see those all the time when I go to Finland. Great work.

Thank you all. Being rather upset with whispering trains in default stock I created and recorded my own sound set for the wagon:

Thanks. I will pass the regards to the community. The sounds were bit tricky to get right in RW since with many wagons the "echo" effect started to play quite loudly with many sound sources in same phase. I solved it by making three random sample sounds with samples of slightly different lengths. This arrangement made sure that every wagon has its sounds bit out of phase with rest of wagons and echo effect is thus minimal.
