DT's Class 40 Cab Patch Non Functioning Wipers?
Good morning everyone
I wonder if there is a solution to the following
I have noticed that the Class 37 aliased cab for use on DT's Class 40s doesn't have working wind screen wipers
Does anyone know which lines to edit in the bin file to correct this?
Thanks in advance
Kind regards Stephen

Hi Stephan
I contacted DT over a year ago i think about this and to enquire when the gold pack card we were promised on purchase would be out. The answer is no card atpresent and the wipers are in a dfferent position on the external view t the 37 cab so no wipers. I have seen mention a rerelease of the class 40 latter this year.fingers crossed

Actually, scratch that. I packed these bins up, and I'll go and install the vanilla DT version + their cab patch and make another package for that and upload both here tonight. Might be unessasary but not really sure if Richard changed anything in the bin file, but his soundpack does install its own so better to be safe.

Nice work Bill! Be nice to climb back into the Class 40 cab. You've re-awakened by interests in it!

You're welcome. Was amazingly simple.. Well.. It was simple after an hour of trial and error and pounding on the desk.
Installation is simple and the fix for Class 40 owners who do or don't own the Armstrong Powerhouse sound pack for it is uploaded and awaiting approval.

But that's what hobbies are all about - relaxation and relieving the day's tension! Just think of it as being a stress ball.styckx wrote:Well.. It was simple after an hour of trial and error and pounding on the desk.
Thanks again Bill. I'll be checking the library first thing in the morning, and then selecting "rain"

You're welcome again. I couldn't believe my eyes when those stupid wipers finally kicked over again, over a year since the patch.
Ashame that it looks like DT might (I'm speculating) not ever revisit the Class 40. The basic model shape itself is doing fine with age for the most part. I'd pay money though if they built a cab for her, fixed the lights on all of them and built the boxed headcode variants of this class (ie remove the gangway doors).

Re: DT's Class 40 Cab Patch Non Functioning Wipers?
Really, I thought they stated on their webby that the Class 25 and 40 were going to get an overhaul later this year. As the 25 was a freebie and we already have several reskins for that class, I'm not too fussed, BUT, the Class 40 always has been my favourite loco and I was very happy to pay a small price for it. Pity that our intrepid loco builders ( JT, RS.com, IHH ) couldn't offer us an alternative with different headcode variants, in payware quality, it seems that every other old BR class locomotive has now been updated/built in one code or another.styckx wrote: A shame that it looks like DT might (I'm speculating) not ever revisit the Class 40. Thanks a lot for the working wipers anyway Bill, very much appreciated.

Yes, thanks very much for the fix - just a shame RW doesn't have rain running down the windows so the wipers are of some actual use, but hey, that's another topic.
I do hope DT revisit the model and upgrade it, as (you'll probably notice from my avatar) it's my favourite all time loco too.
