Engine bluprint

Fire up your 3D modelling tool and start building some rolling stock, or find out what others are previewing here. If you have questions about how to make the blueprints work or what names mean what in models, here's the place to find out your answers.

Engine bluprint

Post by oar85 »

Hello,

Starting to get the hang on it, but still alot of things that confuses me with 3d canvas and railworks. Now I have exported a locomotive from 3d canvas with the railsim exporter. I try to make a simple engine bluprint, and preview the shape in assets editor, but it dont work. I try to do the same thing with a wagon blueprint, with the same bogie blueprints and data, and it works! I can use the locomotive as a wagon, but when I add it to a engine blueprint it won't preview. Is there any know issues about this, I'm I doing something wrong in the engine blueprint? Do the engine blueprint demand some more data to add the shape as a locomotive to the sim?

On the old railsimulator.com website there was a sample engine that could be download to allow creators to see how it is build up with the blueprints and so on, but I don't find those files anymore. Do they still exist somewhere?

Thank you in advance

Regards, Oystein

A locomotive have motors, multiple brake systems, cabs, controls so it's obvious they need more data than a single wagon...
I don't know about the availabilty of developer examples, but the original ones had "smart" (really annoying) installer, what on installed if you got a rail SIMULATOR, with mk2 patch, and not with railworks.
That's why i saved all of those files in a rar archive here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5862163/Developer_examples.rar
My top wishes: Realistic engine physics - Superelevation - Multi-core support - Remove Physix engine, and use better one
