East London Lines

Post by Sector95 »

Hi,

I'm going to share with you my idea of my first route. It's called East London Lines and it is a slight blur between fictional and prototype. The original idea was to build the East London Line in it's Pre-Extension state since it appears to be easy to build, am I right? Then upon discovering its links with Liverpool St. and Broad St. up until 1970 I wanted to depict that too. This is where it gets fictional... I'm not a big fan of Pre-BR Blue Grey Period so instead why not bring Broad St. into the NSE Period! :D So what do you think everybody? Would it be easy? Can someone post here how to start step by step? I don't know whether I need DEM. So where do I start after Route Extraction?

The idea isn't concrete yet as I may plan to extend.

Replies please, James.

Yes it's something like that. The plan is to build the East London Line as it was in LU Ownership and then build the current extension to the Broad St. Line without burying poor Shoreditch 50ft under! To do this I will make a junction just before Shoreditch and a line will be taken up behind the retaining wall on Platform 2 (still in use) to Goods Station (before it was demolished and Shoreditch High St. does not exist) the line then connects up with the Broad St. Line to Dalston and Broad St. station survives. The route aims to be more flexible than just having the ELL by itself and it is going to be set in the 80's. The connection with the Broad St. Line will be 4th rail as far as an intermediate station on that line (probably Old St.) 3 experimental LU trains (1986 Experimental Stock which are real trains but scrapped) will provide a shuttle on this part of the route. Main Line trains will also be present on the route. There are also provision for future extensions. I hope the route will be popular and if you are interested please comment.

James.
