Old American Boom Car --Take 2

Post by dogmouse »

Hello everyone. I just joined your wonderful site, and hope that you have an interest for old American RR locos/cars as well as the really cool stuff I see here. These are some pics of an old weathered boom car I made a while back. I hope you enjoy them.
Thanks again, Doug, for you help on getting them to show up here :-)

Hi Rich,
Welcome to the forums.
One of many recently from your side of the pond. Good the more the merrier.
Here is a brief brief on how to use the Atomic Album for posting pictures in you posts.

http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... m#p1247248

Most important no spaces in file names. I.E. 'bogiecoach' or 'bogie_coach' not 'bogie coach'.
If more help is required come back here with the problem.

Great looking realistic Wagon/Loco/Railcar by the way.

Good luck
Doug

Hi Rich,
I just happened to be reading it could have been anyone. 8)

I have just been to the Atomic Album OK, but I do have an account already.
I tried opening the create Premium Account page and also got the error. It may be as the message says the page is being worked on.
All the Atomic Album Premium Account does is give you a unique album number for when linking to pics or uploading to it.
Did you login with your username and password at the Atomic Album home page?
You could ask on the Site Admin sub-forum (first one at the top. If there is a problem.

I do know you can link to photos from external sites but sadly do not know how to do it. Is there specific instructions on the imageshack home page as to what format to use?

Can you go to one of the posts from a member you know uses imageshack and click on Quote in that post. This will start a reply panel with the post quoted and the image as the code used to link to it. Maybe you can get pointers from that. Do not submit the reply for obvious reasons, unless you want to ask the poster how to link to image shack.

Sorry I could not be of more help. Don't worry there are those who can.

Good luck
Doug

P.S. Your update crossed my reply. I'll leave it here in case it helps anyone else.

Hi Rich,
That wagon is absolutely brilliant :-?

There are one or two American Practice simmers they can be found here:-

They are house trained I think. :D

Good luck

I think it got it's name because the boom of a crane car hung above it.
Mostly it was a tool shed companion to the crane car.

Hi Rich,
AH! what we on this side of the pond call a 'Match Truck'.

Two countries divided by one language.

Good luck

Hi there,

I was a bit foxed to it's purpose when I first saw the screenies.

Especially when I saw the beer tank label.

But Hey!!!

That is a seriously good piece of modelling, The textures are amazing.

Nice One.

Thank you, Mickrik!

I thought if I filled the tank with beer, instead of water, it would get the yard crew to work with a steadier hand

I'm surprised it's survives being moved from point A to B? Splendid use of textures, a true modeling gem.
