071 Class

Fire up your 3D modelling tool and start building some rolling stock, or find out what others are previewing here. If you have questions about how to make the blueprints work or what names mean what in models, here's the place to find out your answers.

071 Class

Post by Irishrailguy »

Hi,

I finished my exams yesterday and I downloaded Sketchup 7. So I'm starting this thread to show my progress n an IE 141/071/181 loco. First I need some reference photos (side/front/top) of decent quality. If anyone has some could they let me know, I'd like to get started soon.
If you would like to see what I plan to make in detail, visit the 'your requests' thread I posted in this forum.

Thanks.

Hi,
You are going to need much more then just photos. You should get some technical drawings (you wont find that on the internet - try emailing irish rail about it) Photos are very easy to find. Example > http://eiretrains.com/

Good luck.

I meant tech drawings, but I managed to make a cravens coach ( still in progress ) with only 1 photo, as sketchup has a handy photomatch feature. I think it's coming along alright.

Sorry, but we can't actually see pictures stored on the hard disk of your computer. You will have to upload them to somewhere on the internet, (like Atomic Album here on UKTS) and then link to them.
Alan

My railway photos are now on Google + - links to the albums are in this thread http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... 9&t=149558

Lots of steam and early diesels from 1959 to 1963.

yes, I apologise, I'll remove it. It was just a test link, I suppose I need an Atomic Album account to show a picture.
