Hi,
I'm trying to run the 0730 Kingswear scenario on SDB (V14) and have hit a "consist error". I think I've got all the assets I need, but may well be wrong there. The location of the error is at Kingswear, a thing behind the Hall that's next to the turntable. If I'm interpreting the editor right, it is "siding marker.xml". There's also something literally in the middle of the main road's level crossing.
I have installed the following additional items, mostly because I think they're needed by SDB:
UKTS_18544_ChocolateCream_Mk1_BG
UKTS_22778_Dumbleton_Hall
UKTS_20328_GWR_94xx_Pannier_(Kngtrains)
UKTS_20150_Collet_2251_0-6-0_GWR_(Kngtrains)
*DT_GNR_N2
UKTS_20162_57xx_GWR_7715
UKTS_22611_Chocolate_&_Cream_MK1_Set.rwp
UKTS_21316_GWRWagonPack1
UKTS_18538_ChocolateCream_Mk1_Sk
UKTS_20160_57xx_GWR_5764
GWR Iron Minks
UKTS_22133_Railcar_local
UKTS_23226_Chocolate_&_Cream_MK2_Set.rwp
UKTS_22250_GWRWagonPack2
UKTS_20521_King_Edward_I_(GWR)_(Kngtrains)
UKTS_16986_AshStock01
GWR_KinletHall_4936
DT_Great_Western_61xx_Large_Prairie
Brake_van_pack
GWR_DumbletonHall_4920
UKTS_20689_GWR_45's_locomotives_(Kngtrains)
The GNR is additional; the "Brake van pack" is from digitaltrains, as are Kinlett and Dumbleton Hall.
I also have the RW Hall and Jubilee. I'm running on Win7 and have an up-to-date RW install.
Can anyone point me in the right direction please?
Ruth

Re: Help running south devon banks....
Hi Ruth and welcome to the Forum,
I have just run that Scenario, but the error I received on start up was "Broken consist" which I traced to the wagons sited at 'Paignton Gas 1'. I just flew to that location in 'Edit' mode and 'selected' them using the mouse using Shift+LMB click & hold, moved them a little bit on the siding. Then 'saved' the changes and the Scenario now runs.
If that does not sort for you come back here and we will try to help further.
Can I suggest that you get this Utility (for checking for 'Problems' with RW as well as heaps of other things) if you are adding "Extra's" to expand your enjoyment of RailWorks, you have a trial period for about 21 days and then you need to make a contribution to help Mike continue his hard work with RWTools. Give it a go you will never look back.

This marker is supposed to be there as it is used by other Scenarios. There's also something literally in the middle of the main road's level crossing.

Re: Help running south devon banks....
If you do a search the route building forum, you will find a few hints on there on how to fix the problems. Suffice to say the consist error is because the consist is too long. There are also problems with emplacement of consists, which are relatively easy to fix.

Re: Help running south devon banks....
I managed to fix my consist error; I took the hint about space and moved the coaches in one siding at Kingswear nearer the points, and all is now well. Thanks for your help.
BTW. I have tried RW_Tools and have had very little success, such that I am not at all inclined to pay for it. It has crashed several times, and in the situation above, while it appeared to load the routes, would tell me nothing about the stock on any of them, including default routes. I have updated the files to v2.1. Maybe I'm missing something, but IMO it needs much polishing...
Regards,
Ruth

Hi Ruth,
Glad to hear you have sorted out your problem with SDB Scenario.
IMO you are definately missing something if you do not make a contribution to Mike for a full copy of RWTools, it is your 'best friend' for sorting problems with RW and will even allow you to simply 'exchange' any missing items of Rolling Stock (such as Payware items you haven't got) in a Scenario (including the Player Loco and all its instruction tabs) for Rolling Stock items that you already have installed, just click on the "Edit Scenario" tab to do this.
"More polishing" you could not get more of a 'shine' on RWTools if you tried
, believe me it will be the best thing you ever spend money on for Railworks.

I cannot finish without passing comment on your above statement. If the Utility is crashing it is only because you will not have installed it correctly, I have used it from day one of its release and never had a crash, except when I have done something incorrectly. Did you read the Manual (available under the "Help tab") this explains fully how to do everything from correct installation to converting RS Loco to "Chuff" like the RW ones. If you have select the "Check Routes" Tab you can check All your RW installed Routes for any missing items and below that are boxes to check all your installed Scenarios for any missing Rolling Stock items, so you are definately doing something wrong if you say "it would tell nothing about missing stock".BTW. Re: Help running south devon banks....
I made the assumption that the installer had done the installing. I've now fetched and installed the extension dll and moved the serz exe file and am having much more success with it.emrhd01 wrote: I cannot finish without passing comment on your above statement. Re: Help running south devon banks....
Hi Ruth, an installer can only copy and instal a file if it knows where it is! As we all have our Railworks folders in different places on our hard drives ( because we can! ) an installer wouldn't be able to find the files and would have to either search for it - which could get the wrong version, or sulk because it wasn't in the standard path where it was supposed to be. Mike's option is better because it installs then gives you a read me and help file to finish it off no matter what you are running or where you have put the files
