Hi Styckx

As soon as you pay, you get the download link. You then receive two emails, one as a receipt and one with the link to the free standard.

Just taken the 9F for a spin and chose the Pines Express scenario. After admiring the beautiful model of the Evening Star I thought I'd better get my hands dirty and actually play the scenario! Shortly after hitting the incline out of Evercreech I started to pile on the power as speed was dropping alarmingly. With all the stops out I thought in desperation "well I'll try the sander", but I've never had much success with this feature in the past with other locos. Imagine my delight that it actually worked, which only increased when I used the external sander because there was a visual jet of steam around the sanders - to be increased further when I released the sander and saw red-hot clinkers falling from the stack!! This only worked when I stopped using the sander and got wheel-slip. I had to repeat it several times to make sure my eyes weren't deceiving me

What a fantastic add-on. Sly's lived up to his reputation yet again and turned out a real cracker, and with all the added bonuses it's only win, win, win.

The site of Evening Star battling her way up that incline has totally made my day. And I've not even had a look at the bonus loco yet!

If you're still wondering whether to buy - don't wonder - just buy it. I reckon you won't be disappointed

Cheers

markjudith wrote:I'm looking forward to getting the 9F, I have bought it and got the free standard thankyou :) but I cannot get the 9f due to very poor download speed, I'm sure this is at my end I'm getting 3-15kbps with the suggestion it may take 3 hours to download however the down load cuts off giving a 'timed out' error. Is there a limit on the number of down load attempts I can have, as I may have to try some time in the future when BT gives us a better service rather than the string and tin can we have at the moment.

Thanks

Mark
I do feel for you we have just had our bean can upgraded, we used to only get 47mbps, in the last week it has been uped to 170kbps, even so the 9f took around 25 mins to down load.................but then it is 120mb ish., try very late at night when not too many peeps on the string.

Hi Sly.Thanks for helping me out.Did what you suggested and it works perfectly. Thanks for a fantastic loco-worth every penny!!

Pines Express... when entering the scenario select the Evening Star by clicking on it.. you should then have control. :D

Summer Saturday.. it is essential that you follow the instructions in this scenario.

wait until 44888 has dropped off and run round its train .. when it stops click on it and press shift +cntrl+C to couple to its coaches.

then immediatley select 92166 and wait for 92220 to back down.

When 92220 has backed down and stopped at its coaches..
immediately select 92220, press shift +cntrl+ C to couple
press F3 and uncouple the Black 5 from the other end
press T to load your passengers
when complete drive to Templecombe.

What can I say Paul? What a stunning locomotive, I thought the screenshots were impressive but in game she looks even better. Very happy with my purchase, highly recomended, atmosphere abounds around this set of locos, top class! :D :o

Btw, the 9F is excellent :)

If you guys are discussing what I think you're discussing, i.e. the "shake" effect where the entire cab seems to be 'vibtrating', then I've had that since RS days...

No idea what causes it, but found that it's been far less frequent in RW and tends only to occur after I've been playing a long while which suggests maybe some sort of memory-leak issue. Might be coincidence, but I found the Kuju 47 did it the most.

I have a problem with this ^^ bit ... Some wag appears to have welded the couplings to the drawbar...

Seriously, 888 pulls up, there's a pause, and then she pulls forward with train still attached :o

This then means that when she pushes back, she gets stuck on the points -- the behaviour at this point is truly weird as she just sits there, not moving but still chuffing away...

Have tried it several times and been into the editor to see if there are any pathing errors, etc. and even changed the auto-coupling setting in game to "on" (and subsequently back off) all to no avail.

This mode of operation is radically new and has the potential to bring a whole new aspect to scenario creation... if I could get it to work :s

Help...

Darn... didn't spot that; don't know why it does it, either... apologies

Mods: any chance of culling the double post? Thanks awfully ;)

Anyway, the sun is over the yard-arm, crack open the sherry, Manuel :D
