Beta testing woes.

Post by charles9malcolm »

Chaps, can anyone help with this? A couple of strange anomalies have been found during beta testing of my route.

The first is a flickering red signal light which appears across the whole sky at particular locations. Because the light flickers it is very difficult to take a screenshot and so the shot below has been provided to me from another route as an example.

The second issue is a white line in the sky which appears above trees.

What causes these two problems and how can I get rid of them?

Thank you,

Charles

The first one looks like a texture from a signal?

Dorset Coast seems to show the same effects. See http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... s#p1228604.

The improved signal lighting patch causes this unfortunately. I had it in a test route which included the 'improved' signals. I also had very large flashing red and green lights in the cab. I guess that's why MSTS has rubbish signal lights because it can't take a bright visible light for some reason. Probably something to do with the radius parameter of the light.

Hi all,

A while ago I posted about a problem with intermittent thin white lines in the sky of my route. Nobody seemed to know what the were, and I have now discover that they emanate from areas where the terrain tiles have not properly 'welded' together. Is there a way to fix this? I thought about re-extracting the terrain but presumably all cuttings and embankments would be lost - not something I’m prepared to do. Any ideas?

Thanks

Charles

Is the tear along a tile boundary?

Hi Mick,

Yes it's right along the boundary.
