This is what I have:
- my C-drive = 160 GB. > free space = 12 GB (is a SSD).
- the steam folder = 24 GB and is a part ofcourse of the C-drive

So, as I see it Theo, you already have a dedicated 'Steam' folder on your C-drive (i.e. it does not nest in the 'Program Files' folder?

If that is the case then you have nothing to do and my job is done!!

The steam folder is in C:\Program Files (x86).

And there are more games in this steam folder, not only RailWorks.
So that's the reason of the 24 GB.
And on the C-drive, I have only 12 GB free space.

But I have a hard disk of 700 GB as the D-drive.
Perhaps this could help?
Because I guess a copy of the "steamapp" to the desktop is not possible.

I just had a similar experience of problems with the Something bad... error.
I'd recently updated the Nvidia reference driver to the latest version. It seems that this includes an updated version of PhysX (build 910), which is not apparently compatible with Railworks (yet).
Removing that component, and reinstalling the 909 version resolves the issue.

Mine runs fine now and all I had available was the 'included' 9.10.0129.
Like I said, no problems with it here and I'm using tha latest 197.13 nVidia drivers.
GFX card is Gainward GeForce 260 GTX OC.

I have a rwp-file but I get an error > Batch operation failed.

Hi Theokus, somewhere in the RWP will be a 0kB File - extract files with 7Zip - (free download) & then you can copy/ paste the files into Railworks. After that you can repackage after removing the 0kB files - hopefully!

How do I repackage.... The original files are gone he.
I have only this rwp-file.

I do hope you did understand the whole problem.

- the bleuprint editor did not work in Windows 7
- solution > put steam in root C > so it became C:\Steam.
- before this I made ofcourse this rwp file
- than I got that error.

I had to un-install and re-install Steam and that whole lot.

Sorry Theokus, should have been clearer. When you use 7zip to extract the rwp, extract into a temporary folder - this will give all of the folders to be copied into the main Railworks folder. When they are back into the main railworks installation you should be able to use the packager to make a new package if you wish to. But you will need to make sure there are no 0kB files in it or it won't create the RWP file!
