How is the new corris coming along? Are they planning to extend the full line again?

Nope - they are aiming for Corris to Tan-y-Coed, which is somewhere between Esgairgeiliog and Llwyngwern. It's within walking distance of the Centre for Alternative Technology in Llwyngwern Quarry, which should make it a useful joint attraction.

All the news you could possibly want is on http://www.corris.co.uk

hth a bit,

John

I thought that they just restored the old line David...I don't think they'd have rebuilt it somewhere else :-?

The Corris Railway - in msts

Post by readingmainline26 »

I am hoping to release the first section of the corris in msts in about a months time. Im working on the Aberllefenni to Maespoeth section. The route is not accurate its a sort of spirit of the corris, Maespoeth is as the preservationists want it to be, Corris is based on the original, and so on. its a modern day version of the route i'd imagine. i'll post some pics of it when i can get route editor working properly again.

COOL! Now we'll have a Corris route :D
Will your route be Narrow guage? Or will it be like Kevin's Talyllyn route?

 (It's an honest question)

i've used scenery/buildings from the defualt routes and also a lot of things from the talyllyn route, as i no idea how to make my own, i'll try to figure it out for a version 2 sometime. but for now i just want to get the thing released so i can get feedback from people so as to make the next version better. as i mentioned before its a fictional corris route so who nows where it will go?

At least you won't need to worry about steam engines too much!
Kevin's already made Corris #1, Corris #2, and Corris #3 (Trno.3), and is making Corris #4 (Edward Thomas).

So you can use those engines.
And also to follow up on David's question:
Yah, where did you get that diesel??
D'ya make it from scratch?

I can see that I will have to get cracking on Corris no 4 now :)

I look forward to trying out the route.

(Can I just point out that the Talyllyn route was built by Steve Pontin. I just make the trains)

Cheers

Route is looking very nice - that walled yard with the short sidings is great, lots of character.

If you have Decapods shape file manager (on this site) you can scale the size of any object - I notice your stone wall sections have come out looking very thick. If you took that 2x version of the model and reduced the X axis by 50% they would be the same height and length but half the width so you'd get walls nearer scale thickness.

Kevin, thanks for clearing that up :)
:P I was starting to get confoozed

But either way the Corris route looks awsome from what I've seen so far!
I wonder...(I'll get back on topic afterwards)...is there any plana for a Ffestiniog Railway route?

We've done the Talyllyn, the Corris is being built, but is anyone doing the Ffestiniog??

Oh and Kevin, your Ffestiniog cars you uploaded look great!
Well done!

The Ffestiniog route is being worked on, see the topic "Ffestiniog route building" on the NG forum. (and glad you liked the stock)

Cheers
