Laptops / Video Chipsets

Post by icornish »

I know RailSimulator.com say they don't support laptop chipsets, but does anyone know what chipsets work (and which one's don't work), so those of us about to plunge money into a new laptop can get one that would work well.

I for one currently have a dell device with the NVidea Quadro NVS 160M, which works quite well once you get the reference drivers from NVidea and scrap the Dell drivers. However, that laptop has to go back soon, so a new one is in order for me... but which one?!?!?!

My laptop, Acer Aspire 6930 has a Nvidea 9600M GT 1GB GDDR2 memory and its running Railworks at a very high level fairly well.
