1L48 Swansea to Paddington part 1

Post by INTERCITY »

Her are some screenshots from my upcoming activity for BrisCard v.4 I will complete part 2 of this activity by using EB's London to Swindon route.

Cleared for the Up Main out of Swansea

Our HST powers up

Passing Llandore depot

Approaching Neath,our first station stop

view from the platform at Neath

As we pull away an Arriva 175 pulls in with a Milford Haven service from Manchester

Now approaching Port Talbot Parkway

As we depart the Welsh hills are clearly visible

A view from the car park as we approach Bridgend

I lost most of the Cardiff pictures, here is our HST passing under the line for Cardiff Queen St

A cab-view approach to Newport, the real linespeed is 20mph on approach to Casnewydd

And now a view from the platform

Crossing the River Usk on departure, next stop in 25 mins is Bristol Parkway

70 mph through Severn Tunnel Junction

Maintaining 70 as we enter the west portal

The 09;15 Padd-Cardiff passes us inside the Severn Tunnel

We enter England and power up to 80mph until Patchway

Emerging from Patchway Tunnel

The line to Filton is off to the right as we go left for Bristol Parkway

2D02 arrives into platform 4 at Parkway with the 10;09 from Weston S Mare

We now head for Swindon and for the first time in over 1/1/2 hours we can exceed 100mph

Which we obtain just prior to Westerleigh Junction, where the line to Cheltenham diverges

up to 120 mph as we enter Chipping Sodbury Tunnel

and as we exit we travel on the only 125 part of the entire route from Swansea to Swindon

Wootton Bassett Junction, 6 miles to Swindon

We arrive on platform 3 at Swindon station

On platform 2, a Class 158 waits with thw 11;54 to Cheltenham Spa.

I hope you enjoyed this shots, the activity will be released very soon with part two for Europeanbahns London to Swindon route following .

Yes you may and I thought od doing that, but I find it harder to drive without knowing the speed I am travelling at especially when I'm approaching stations.

Many Thanks for your comment though it is appreciated

Thanks Jon, I'm going to have so much enjoyment creating activities for this one, I think that if Chris ever decided to extend up to Paddington, he could rival that of EB in terms of quality.

I think it is quite remarkable for someone who dosent even live in the UK to come up with a route so amazingly accurate
