Trainstore not installing

Post by mikespearce »

Hi guys im getting this error message when i install trainstore

The registered trainstore folder c\train cannot be found. You must either close the program and restore the folder to its original position,or, request trainstore to reset the folder registration.

Now iv tried that one and it doesnt work. Iv uninstalled etc but it still wont work. Any ideas guys?

Hi Mike,

TS has some left over reg entries from a previous install.
You need to make the c:\train directory and TS will install.

Hi Mike,
A bit soon for a Bump. :-?
I have TrainStore on the same Drive as Program Files where TrainSimulator is. I.E. Your Drive:Program Files/J A Formoso/TrainStore and the Storage Folder on the Root of the Drive I.E.Your Drive:TRAINSTORE

Does TrainStore actually start? If you get the window with the panels. Tools (on the Tool Bar ) Options/MSTS Folder will allow you to point Train Srore to the Location of MSTS.

If TrainStore does not Start this error refers to where you told TrainStore to store the files it moves. If I remember correctly (it's a long time since I installed TrainStore) you can name it what you like, did you remove the one you used on the first attempt to install?

Come back

Good luck
Doug

Sorry for the impatience lol. No it doesnt start atall, when i click on no to closing it goes onto a screen and says do you want train store to reset the folder registration? If i click yes it then says do you automatically want to select the msts folders from the existing msts information. If i click yes to that it says the registered train store folder C:\train cannot be found. When i click ok it says cannot change visible in Onshow or onhide. Then it comes up with storage setup path and just has :\C
program files
ja formoso
train store.

Hi Mike,
Do you actually have that path on your PC. If as you said it is a new PC are you trying to copy over the old TrainStore installation.
mikespearce wrote:ja formoso
train store
Is that the exact message?
Try making a new folder in C/Program Files. With the exact wording as the first part of the error message, i.e.ja formoso then make another Folder in the one you just made with the exact wording as the second part of the error message, i.e.train store.
Which is what Derek meant.

Hope this is clear.
