FR Quirks and Curiosities gala 30th April - 3rd May

Post by Rfairlie »

Details are now online of the Festiniog Railways Quirks and Curiosities gala from the 30th April - 3rd May.

http://www.ffestiniograilway.co.uk/qc/index.htm

Highlights include:-
3 Vertical boiler locos
3 quarry Hunslets including Edward Sholto, repatriated, restored and finally back in Wales
2 gravity trains
2 boats (only one on rails though!)
1 Lynton and Barnstable loco
A miriad of internal combustion oddities including my own pet project Monster http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RCGFqi7e8yk&.

Not to mention the unique resident FR fleet dating from 1863 right through to 1999 still working harder than ever through spectacular scenery.
Combined with the WHHR gala down the road and the Narrow Gauge orintated Porthmadog model railway exhibition it makes for an unmissable weekend in North Wales.

Don't forget the event is free to FR Society members so why not sign up at http://cms.pro-action.co.uk/index.php?o ... Itemid=128
