Pantograph problem

Post by JPMASSON »

Hello,

Could someone help me to solve a mystery ?
What makes, on an electric engine or EMU, the pantograph go up (visually) or not ?
In my particular case, I made a new model of "TGV POS" from the EMU "JT TGV reseau", based on Clem Tillier's design, by adding the necessary .s, .sd and .ace files and creating a new .eng file. After some adjustments on the headlights positions, everything would be all right... except that, despite the setting (0 1 0) or (0 1 1) for the pantograph toggle1 command, the pantograph remains down and refuses to move when pressing the "P" key (AZERTY keyboard) ; however, the voltmeter in the driving cab shows the line voltage and the train starts normally, but that damned panto is still down...
I suspect it might be very trivial and perhaps be a command or setting similar to the one that causes the rear pantograph only to raise on many EMU's or TGV's models".
Any help will be most welcome. Thank you in advance

Hi
If you switch the HUD on (F5) you should be able to see a message that the panto is 'up' or 'down'.
If this is working correctly.... but the panto in the model is not moving then maybe its not animated in the shape file.
Although knowing Clem Tillier's models it should be.

Cheers

Hello,
Thank you for your quick reply ; it was the right hint that led me to the clue.
Everything was normal on F5, just as in the driving cab. In fact, and so far I did not know about that, the pantograph was not animated in the shape file. There were other files for the rear engine... with the anmated pantograph. I just incorporated these in the folder, together with the relevant .eng file, which I adapted as I'd done for the front engine, and the panto raised immediately. Fantastic !
Thanks again for your help
