Not so long ago I read in a post that a member installed the latest nVidia Video card drivers and he had problems with it ever since.
About 3 days ago (after I had forgotten about that member) I downloaded those drivers and I got that proc error, I tried uninstalling
those new drivers and re-installing the older ones, it did not work, only when I wiped my hard drive partitions, restored my W7 pro image
and re-installed RW did it work again.
I have an 8800 GTS card.
I'm posting this as it may be of benefit to some members.

Re: Proc error with nVidia drivers
I think this more likely to be PhysX. The latest Nvidia drivers install these by default. Try going back to the old PHysX first.

Re: Proc error with nVidia drivers
Thanks for the reminder.
I remember reading that and deciding not to update my video drivers until I was sure the new drivers would be trouble free.
Consequently I'm still using version 191.07 ( released Oct 5, 2009 ) everythings OK so I don't want to tempt fate.
Cheers
Glenn.

Re: Proc error with nVidia drivers
Come to think of it, I may have posted it - I had the exact same problem
Good luck.

Re: Proc error with nVidia drivers
I had this problem this evening. Looked on the Railsim website wiki and they had a link to some PhysX drivers on the Nvidia website. Downloaded and installed the drivers and now it's working again.

Re: Proc error with nVidia drivers
Just wondering if the PhysX Driver is part of the video driver download or is it something you download seperately ?
In the past I've just downloaded whatever the new driver was and assumed it had the PhysX stuff included.
Thanks
Glenn.

Re: Proc error with nVidia drivers
They are part of the driver download but sometimes they don't install properly, or so I have read. I never have had a problem with it though.Maxway wrote:Just wondering if the PhysX Driver is part of the video driver download or is it something you download seperately ?

Re: Proc error with nVidia drivers
Well just relating my driver upgrade experience for anyone who may be contemplating doing the same.
Decided to update from Driver 191.07 & PhysX 9.09.0720 to the latest WHQL Driver 196.21 and PhysX 9.09.1112 ( Win 7 64 bit)
Generally everything initially seemed OK but then I noticed something weird. On Port Road 3.0 scenerios Market Day 1 and Northern Irishman I had really bad shimmering/shaking in the in cab view. Other external views in the same scenario were OK but not in cab. I tried reducing AA back from X16 but no difference.
Other scenerios on the same route were fine and other routes seemed OK. ( not that I tried every scenerio on every route )
Any way I restored back to my old drivers ( and PhysX) as everything works OK - not sure when I might try updating again.
