August 1977 and with the rest of the country in a heatwave, 24 060, not long for withdrawal, hauls 2D35, a Saturday's only summer service, away from Aber-Ystrad on a wet Welsh day.

In fact, on that subject - I found some old research material I thought you might be interested in!

I think this one was taken by my grandfather in the 40's near Threave Castle...



This one was in a second hand shop in Castle Douglas...



And a postcard from 1960 - sent to me by Bullet399!...

A Sulzer Type 2 and 4 Mk 1s trundle down towards Loch Luichart - from my Kyle of Lochalsh route that's still very much WIP :D
