The East Lancashire Railway held it's first diesel running day for the year, on Saturday 9th January 2010. The theme on this occasion was type 4 and type 5 diesels.
The cast included:
1) Class 47 D1501 (47402)
2) Class 55 Deltic 55022 Royal Scots Grey
3) Class 40 'Whistler' 40145 (East Lancashire Railway
4) Ex EWS 37418 Pectinidae (although technically a type 3, she was out and about for train heating and assistance)
5) BR Class 55 Deltic 55016 (D9016) Gordon Highlander - recently purchased and moved to the ELR from Barrow Hill a few days earlier.
All five locos on hellfire form as ever, in the dreadfully freezing winter conditions.

Some nice shots.. I personally think the ELR Diesel events are becoming better than the steam events now..

Next month's steam event looks good - with Oliver Cromwell and Sir Lamiel in attendance, things might just perk up a bit on the ELR, steam wise.
