Ravenglass and Eskdale Heritage Stock Pack

Post by Nvincer »

Hey Guys,

Been a long time since I've posted on here, but I have been busy on a few little projects, along side keeping Romney going!

I am proud to annouce that the Ravenglass and Eskdale Heritage Stock Pack is now ready for release. More details on it can be found over at Bubble's Railways - http://www.bubblesrailways.co.uk, but I will post a few pictures of what is contained here to whet your appetites.

And a quick heads up for the new year, I have a few more releases up my sleeve, including a much dragged out appearance of a former Fairbourne Resident ;)

For now, Happy New Year!

Interesting paradox of Silver Jubilee and Dalegarth new station building there. (the latter being built after the first had been disbanded). :) Though funnily enough, Sir Aubrey doesn't look as out-of-place next to the building, despite it being scrapped in the 1920s!

Yep, something that can't be re-created in real life - that's the beauty of MSTS! :)

And on Sir Aubrey, when doing all of the research for this loco, i've come to realise its one I would really like to have seen. Sadly, I was 60 odd years too late!

Why was Aubrey scrapped? Was it because the engine wasn't strong enough to pull the trains? I know that the atlantics were scrapped for that reason according to a R&ER guidebook I got 10 years ago. Real shame, looked like the 2 of them were very handsome locos. Oh, and at the end is that Muriel A.K.A River Irt?!

Sir Aubrey Brockelbank, like all the "scale models", was not up to Ravenglass conditions, but was not strictly scrapped, most of the chassis, together with that of Colossus (and bits of Sans Pareil) went into the first River Mite 4-6-0+0-6-4

...and furthermore, after the first River Mite was dismantled, the frames of Colossus and Sir Aubrey were sold to Harry Barlow at Southport. Sadly, he never did anything with them and they were later scrapped. A great pity; had they survived a while longer we might well have seen "rebuilds" à la Windmill Farm's Red Dragon :(

Anyway, another excellent selection of models Ben :) Has it really been four years since we launched the first version of Sir Aubrey?!
