Class 26/27 cab

Post by Zackybong1 »

Am I the only one having problems with the cabview for these locos? I've put it in a folder called "common.cabview" in the trainset directory (not common.cab as all the "commons" are) and when I start to use one of these locos, there is no cab detail, just the frameless "shift1" view. I noticed there is no .cvf file in the cabview folder. Does this matter?
I'm using 27114 by the way.
What could be wrong?

Do a quick search, I remember reading yesterday that the folder has to be renamed.

It installs to common.cab\cabview, you need to rename the cabview folder to class26_27 then you will be ok

There has been a bit of confusion for which I apologise to anyone who downloaded Bobs cab only to find they couldn't get it to work - the problem stems from RTFM syndrome - I looked at it and saw what I thought I saw and the loco's were fitted accordingly but not how they should have been!

For Version 1.0 owners, follow the instructions given above and it works fine - Bob is uploading a Version 1.1 which has a self installer and also the wheelslip light included which will work just by hitting the install buttons. Sorry for any confusion, especially if it has prevented you from experiencing the cab! :(

I have done the renaming bit but it still does not work. I had the same problem with the class 20 cabview, until I gave it the position figures from the class 26_27. But this one dont respond at all. I can use any other cabview in it, even the tweaked class 20. I guess I'll wait for the new version to appear.

I must admit, I've downloaded the 1.1 version and I'm still stumped - I can't find a .cvf file in the class26_27 folder for the cabview line in the relevant .eng file to point at. I don't actually have a 26/27 in the trainset directory (I was going to use the cab view for a 25), I assume that isn't the problem? Can anyone advise, please?

Many thanks

The cabview folder only contains the ace files for the cabview, you will need one of the loco's to get hold of the .cvf files to make use of them.

Just pick up any of mine and rename the file as needed and it should work ok :)

I'm deeply grateful - not just for the advice but for the most excellent cabview.
