Finally someones done it!

Bachmann are releasing a very special limited edition of City of Truro. £195 in a platinum box, with a certficate and plinth. A standard release will later follow at £145.

Ordered one this morning. I am strangely drawn to the frame and valve gear arrangement on engines like this, perhaps it harks back to an era when railways were the kings of travel.

This is possibly one of the most beautiful models I have ever seen. I think my jaw nearly hit the floor when I saw it. May have to pester the parents for one for christmas :P

I rang today because the Platinum version wasn't on the website.

I was told that this was an error and they had them in stock, limited to 500.

I'm starting to think tho' .. £200 ? :-?

My Platinum Edition arrived yesterday !

That's one that is not being taken out of the box!

Came with usual bag of bits, a set of etched nameplates/number plates/work plates and a clear green perspex base with the name on.

Oh, and a certificate. Mine's no. 318/500

Seems to have an opening smokebox door. Either that or mine's broken !
