Re: London Paddingon Platform Allocations
1 and 2 are FGW only, as neither are electrified, as for the other platforms I'm not sure, but I don't think there are any real allocations.

Re: London Paddingon Platform Allocations
It's pretty much the same as most stations, Express, Outer Suburban, Inner Suburban in that order. In the case of Paddington, it's from low to high, left to right when facing out of London. Beyond 6+7 for HEX, there are no dedicated platforms, but the first few platforms are always FGW HSTs (and the sleeper), the highest, under the cover, are always FGW Suburbans. Fits with the layout of the track, you don't want a suburban service having to cross from the left side of the station to the relief lines on the right side, or an express crossing from the right side to the main lines on the left. Not sure if the highest numbered platforms could take a HST anyway. Oviously HEX and HC can only use electrified platforms.

Platform 1-5 - First Great Western
Platform 6 and 7 - Heathrow Express
Those are all I can think of having only been there 6 times

Some undercover platforms do take HSTs quite often, I for instance, once got on a Swansea train from one of those platforms.chriscooper wrote:It's pretty much the same as most stations, Express, Outer Suburban, Inner Suburban in that order.
