V2 screenshot at railsimulator.com

Post by 92212 »

Has anyone seen todays screenshot of the upcoming V2 on the RSC website? Looks great. But does the numberplate look too small or is it just me? Regards Matt(92212)

Certainly looks fantastic!!

I dunno,in the enlarged form it doesn't look too bad, might just be the angle of the screenshot.

I hope it sounds as good as it looks!

Will 60800 have its 'Green Arrow' nameplates fitted?

Same I was thinking almark, and an apple green version please, looks really good and I'm really excited even as a southern and gwr fan!
Will be good to have some completely different sounds with LNER being quite different to black fives, 8fs, and 7fs, although not got the hall yet!

Will certainly be getting this, guessing it will be out before xmas as we are getting shots of it!

Very happy!

Well judging by recent releases it will probably be out tomorrow, later on in the evening. New cream and carmine stock as well by the looks as well. The sounds will be key for me as to whether it makes a good model or not. Looking superb so far though.

The screenshots, dont they usually show what addon is coming out in that particular week on Friday, if they are random it appears no addon will comeout that week. Mind you that is just a theory of mine

Mmm, looks good.

I'd like to see it in Apple Green as 4771, though she's seen service at the GCR in BR Green, so should find a use for it.

Yes hopefully it will feature the LNER variant also and with nameplates. Also looking at todays screenshot on the hompage she has what seems to be GWR style lamps. Should she not be carrying LNER styled ones? even during the BR period

Did V2's ever run in BR lined black? I may be wrong but i thought they were brunswick green in the br era? Although they are just very powerful mixed traffic locomotives so maybe they were in BR black for a time. Regards Matt(92212)

Yes some V2's were painted Black during BR era,
(during the 60's most of the Green one's I watched passing through Grantham actually looked like they had been painted Black, but just muck  ).

I can't find a picture to post, but Bachmann sold them, one seen here on EBay.

Interesting! I think they look better in LNER or BR green though. V2's are an amazing locomotive design. They're essentially mixed traffic but so powerful! They were heroes during the war. They'd pull 25 coach, full trains out of kings cross! Trully one of the greatest locomotives ever built. Great choice RSC! Regards Matt(92212)

Yes many were painted in Black as I think the general rule for BR was express engines were painted in Brunswick and freight locos or Mixed traffic saw the shades of black Obvious exceptions were the LMS pacifics alot stayed in maroon livery I think.

Some of these were named locos. I wonder if any of these will be produced:

60800 Green Arrow
60809 The Snapper, The East Yorkshire Regiment, The Duke of York's Own
60835 The Green Howard, Alexandra, Princess of Wales's Own Yorkshire Regiment
60847 St Peter's School York AD627
60860 Durham School
60872 King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry
60873 Coldstreamer

Hope so!
