I have new PC arriving in a few days and want to move steam to it. I have seen different methods online but not sure which is most efficient way. I have a portable hdd and both PCs run windows 10 64 bit. 10 years ago I moved the contents of one pc to another using the direct cable method, but this time I only want move TS2020 etc and keep my old pc as a workstation.
Cheers
Jon

Stick your Steam directory on the portable drive, and plug it the other machine. When you've copied it over to it's new home and try running it Steam will detect that it's on a different PC and send a code to your registered email account, which you'll need to authorise the new PC.

Just to carify, "Stick your Steam directory on the portable drive" means copy it onto the portable drive.
