These scenes should answer your question, if not, use your imagination

Well, I have no problem imagine a log pond, IMO the texture work looks beautiful. To each his own, I guess.lateagain wrote:I figured it was to do with logs but missed that that was a water texture! Not one of MSTS's strengths ...water textures?

Geoff...it's just that compared with later simulation programmes MSTS doesn't have very good water
? Very impressed with the scenery so far.

I'm with you on Train Sims but as a Flight Sim fan and a Sub Sim fan the weather and water are definitely limited in MSTS? Mind you FSX (slightly newer) doesn't do water well either!I didn't take it as a criticism, not at all. I don't compare the simulator programmes against each other anymore, I'm doing MSTS/OR now, and I don't care about the rest.
I dont' do flight or sub sims, and honestly, I don't spend much time considering or thinking about the limitations of one program vs. another. I just enjoy the charm and atmosphere of MSTS.lateagain wrote:I'm with you on Train Sims but as a Flight Sim fan and a Sub Sim fan the weather and water are definitely limited in MSTS? As far as Rail Sims are concerned depth and close range detail of scenery create the best "virtual world"? They don't have to be "frame stopping" or "High definition"? ...just a believable world to drive through?![]()
MSTS's "tile limitation's" have been overcome by a lot of inventiveness. OR will hopefully expand the possibilities? Hope the route you're showing will be available?
