I'm missing the signal posts for the semaphore signals in the Edinburgh-Aberdeen route. I can see the signal arm itself at the top, but no post.
Yet there are posts on the dummy semaphore signals on the other side of the track.
Also, I get a lot of flashing textures on this route. Particually on the track at points and junctions, and the roof of Dundee station.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
-Phil

Re: Edingburgh-Aberdeen Missing Semephore Signal Posts
Re missing semaphore signal posts: I'm guessing here, but having looked at an Edinburgh - Aberdeen route file, it uses the semaphore signal posts included in the BR Semaphore signals pack, available from trainsimcentral - so, have you installed this pack into your BVE 4 object folder?
Re "flashing": sounds like you can see the phenomenon called "z-fighting". What's happening is that there are two scenery objects occupying the same space, and your graphics card can't decide which one to display, so it displays them both alternately, hence the flashing effect. Not easy to resolve unless you know what you're doing. Common reason for seeing this at pointwork is that the route author forgot to replace the rail with a null rail, and placed a points object over it; or created a "points look-alike" by starting a second, curved rail on top of a straight section.

Re: Edingburgh-Aberdeen Missing Semephore Signal Posts
Thanks for the reply.
The signal post problem turned out to be a folder in the wrong place in the BRsema4 folder. Moved it to the correct place, and all is well now.
Regarding the flashing, it's not the end of the world, so I guess I'll just live with it. Not experienced at all in BVE route creation and editing.

Dear ABZScotrail170 ,
Which version are you running - BVE 4 or openBVE?
Do you see any error messages when you load the route?
A common reason for missing signals is not having the BRSigs pack from trainsimcentral properly installed in your objects folder - it might be worth checking that you've got this download.

Re: Edingburgh-Aberdeen Missing Semephore Signal Posts
I haven't tried Edinburgh - Aberdeen in the latest BVE versions, but it is a very demanding route for resources and in BVE 2 it did suffer from missing textures particularly on lower end hardware - i.e. my laptop at the time. So could be GFX card/GPU memory related.

... which doesn't answer the other questions I asked!
Do you get any error messages reported?
Have you downloaded and installed the BRSigs pack?
