1 fps

Another popular Train Simulator with the notable highlight of being freeware! Also note the new OpenBVE version with many new features - well worth a look!

1 fps

Post by diagram »

Hi

Just installed openBVE, load fine but when I go into a scenario, for example the one suggested tutorial route 'Spring Dry cloudy 2005', I only get 1 fps. Ive tried other scenario's and they are all the same.

Not sure whther this is relavent, but, when I click on the openBVE shortcut to launch the game, the 'Open file' pop up box reads:-

c:\Users\Paul\Downloads\openbve_stable\OpenBve.exe

Any suggestions ? Do I need to give more info in this post?

Thanks, Paul

Ensure you have set 32 bit colors in your Windows screen properties, I get 1 fps too setting 24 bit colors.

I'm not sure which route you are talking about. In any case, if frame rates are that low and your computer does not belong in a museum for industrial archaeology, you may be using the wrong driver for your graphics card. From the openBVE website:
openBVE uses OpenGL for 3D graphics, which is implemented in the graphics driver. Without adequate support for OpenGL by the graphics driver, openBVE might run in software mode without hardware acceleration, or with reduced performance. If you have never updated your graphics driver before, this would be a good time to try a newer version, or if you are using the latest version, to try an older version. You can download drivers from the the website of the video card's manufacturer.
If that does not help, please post your system specs.
