How to get trains into route ?

Post by Geoffwright »

I must be a bit thick or something, but I can't seem to see how to get the 323 train into the Birmingham X-City route I've just installed. The route's there OK, but it just says "Train not found" when I try to get going.
I've got BVE2.6.3 & the Birmingham route x-city-south, but don't seem to have the wretched 323 with it.
Anybody help ?
Thanks !

Download the 323 form http://www.bvetrains.co.uk -

http://www.bvetrains.co.uk/class323.html

Just like MSTS, the trains and routes are separate downloads.

If you've done this already, make sure the following folder exists - if it doesn't, then the unit may have been installed to the wrong place:

drive:\path-to-bve\Train\cl323

Well, thank you.
Still, did all that, fired it up, but now BVE fails on "subscript out of range", error 9 , or something.
Ah, well, dustbin job ......
This BVE isn't very user friendly, is it ?

Have you installed the English string.ini file? It's somewhere on the download page on Mackoy's site.

No, it isn't anymore. There is now an English BVE and a Japanese BVE to download. And the respective string.ini are included in the files. So it's now a lot much simpler! Either you download the Japanese or English version instead of downloading the Japanese version then replacing the String.ini with an English one.
If you were wondering, the avatar is me on Planet Stooopid...

Error 9 means large numbers of files missing - i'd guess it's a wrongly installed file, even with EXE installers there's always sometimes when people do it wrong...

Yes this BRR works a treat! takes all the effort out of missing trains 8)
