Is it a problem with my graphics card/drivers that BVE will only run in a window?

Earlier versions used to ask if I wanted window or full screen, this version goes straight into a window, even though under display mode I have "full screen" selected and "show this dialog when program starts"

No, I think it is something to do with BVE. To remedy it, right click on the BVE icon, select properties and check 'Disable Visual Themes'. Im not sure why it worked, but it did for me.

Or, when in BVE, click the menu button and click 'Display Mode Settings' and click the prefered size and tick 'Show this dialog when program starts' and the dialog will automaticly pop up when running BVE/BRR.

Its a WinXP problem...rather than BVEs....as if you dont do the above...it defaults to a window.

Yeh hah! Sorry to bump this but just reinstalling BVE after the HD crash and I was scratching my head as to why it wouldn't force the screen res change. Now bopping along happily in a 158 towards Balfearn and will be even happier once I get 37408 reinstalled.

Are you on XP? If so, you should set the compatblity mode to WIndows 2000 or 98.

Its an old topic mate. It was probably a news topic that disappeared long ago.
