When I go over throttle 2 on most trains, it says turn on ats power. I press shift+f2 then ctrl+f2. The chime goes but it won't accelerate.
How do I fix this ?

When you have done that you must press insert.

So when it starts losing the power I press insert and it should come back.

pressing crtl + f2 turns it on, and then shift + f2 turns it back off, so in effect you're putting it on then off again

Not sure if it's that way round, or the other way...

I think it will do that and you can't do anything about because it happens to me more often when I am driving a HST.

When I press ctrl+f2 first the ats thing doesn't go, and how do you stop the chime ?

I do this:

Ctrl+F2 - switch it off
Engage the EMG (Emergency Brake)
Press Shift + F2 - put ATS to standby
move controller to the final brake stage(before EMG)
Alarm sound
Back to EMG
Press INSERT - sound stops
Wait for 'Failure' light to go off
Proceed as normal
