Bve Route Developer Reference

Post by DoctorGorbstein »

Hi Guys,

Simple question (I hope). Is there a central reference document for the structure of BVE route files? In plainer words, is there a route coder's reference manual that lists the commands and what they do?

I'd like to know a complete list of csv commands, plus the maximum allowed numbers of things like freeobjects, run sounds, etc.

I know Alfred Barten's site used to host such a thing, but the bve section appears to be down.

Any help would be appreciated.

There are a number of places where you can find information.

I've gathered together links to some of them here.

The BVE 2 Coding Guide lists most of the commands. There were then additional commands for BVE 4. Dennis Lance's Guide to Route Building is a very good set of tutorials that covers most of the commands. At BVE Scene there is an occasional series of object building tutorials.

And if you get stuck you can always ask away on the Forums!
