I might stop at the 'Cambuslang Travel Inn', but question is, would anyone be able too give me a lift too and from the exibit, as I dont know the area at all.
Robert - there wont be any problem with that :) Its not normally necessary for us to take all the cars each day - so we usually muck in and give each other lifts. (usually Doug and Pete do the honours but im happy to drive too ) so if you stay at the travel inn im sure you wont have any trouble getting a lift each day.

Im booked into Cambuslang too from the Thursday night until Monday morning. Although at this stage i dont know if im definitely going, I thought it wise to make sure of my booking :)

Sadly I won't be making Glasgow this year - I was sorely tempted to make it three years running, but it comes at a time where weekends away are too expensive for me, and when weekends are better used for studying. Having to drive from Morecambe wouldn't have been a problem, but from Oxford certainly would be!

Gutted :(

Sorry to hear that you won't be able to attend the show this year Martin, like yourself I was hoping ( and still am ) to make this my third consecutive year at the show.

Hopefully you could make it next year.

You never know, I could pull something out of the bag and make it up, but it will be last minute, and is thus unlikely simply due to the cost! I could book flight from Birmingham to Glasgow now for a very reasonable price, but the problem is while that weekend is scheduled to be 'free' it is quite possible that something will make very difficult, losing me flight and hotel money in the process. Unfortunate, but that's life! :(

I think my mum will manage - she has managed to get in quite a lot of retail therapy already this year, and we're only up to the third! :)

To be honest the longest delay I have had on a VT is 15 mins, had longer delays when traveling by FGW.

The one occasion was when was travelling back from one of the ukts shows the FGW service from Paddington to Worcester shrub hill was daleyed by 30 mins, by the time we got to Worcester the service was 45 mins later, I missed my connection so the Central trains staff arranged taxis after getting permision from FGW.

The other time was when travelling back from Bournemouth the advance ticket I had meant I had to change at Didcot parkway and get a FGW service to Shrubhill but due to problems at Reading that service was delayed by 1 hr missed my connection but as the next train was in ten mins had to get that but when that arrived it had to be taken out of service due to a problem with the rear coach, so had to wait for them to bring a replacement train out of the sidings, as far as I can remember that was the worst journey I have encountered when travelling by rail.

Defninately no chance as far as I am concerned - exams on the Monday and Tuesday, so that weekend is a study weekend!

2008 - hopefully!
