I've never seen you so excited about a show!
I really get withdrawal symptoms if I dont get a regular fix, and i haven't been to a roadshow since November. :( Seriously I am really looking forward to it. The Brighton show is a great show :)

Im still toying with the idea of Glasgow too :) One day i decide to go and one day i decide im not well enough. I'll see what im like on the day. :)

If you get tired Laurie we'll rent one of the Daleks for you to drive around the show in. You can go into the canteen and demand:

"GIVE - ME - A - HAM - SANDWICH!"

You should get on a train mate (although I know how unpopular THEY are in these fora :P   )! That's how I'm doing it from Bristol... Get tickets early enough and it's cheaper than driving... Plus you don't have all the parking hassle (which is a nightmare in Brighton) and the bestest bonus of all... A visit to The Evening Star next to Brighton station for a roll and pints of cracking beer!

Make sure you take out a second mortage to cover the parking Doug :( its about £12.50 a day in Churchill 2 right behind the exhibition centre.

Im not sure if i'll be able to stay all day every day, the pain im in at times is unbearable, last night i'd have jumped off a cliff if there had been one handy. Painkillers didnt touch it. Other days its not been too bad though. So im going to take each day as it comes but may have to go home again after lunch. :(

I am looking forward to it a lot though :)

We have a masterplan to save the car parking charges..we're going to travel from the Hotel in Newhaven to Brighton and back by bus!

The No 12 service runs down the main road near the Travel Inn and runs right into the centre of Brighton. £2.80 a day for a saver card!!

Drop dad a note about parking, I believe there are new arrangements for parking this year (for everyone)

These arrangement are a Park and Ride from Brighton Racecourse with a bus service running direct to the exhibition centre...

An alternative worth thinking about.....

Personally I'd say both were a big No,No. Traffic on the coast road in the mornings into Brighton is Gridlocked. Im only 7.5 miles away but will have to allow at least an hour by car. I wouldn't be surprised if the journey from Newhaven would take an hour also :( possibly longer.

The racecourse is so far outside Brighton that in my view its Park and Ride service isn't worth bothering about either. The only consolation is that the trip in until you hit the Lewes Road should be better. I would guess it will still take upwards of 40 minutes though.

Not for me - I'd rather pay the £12.50 a day :(

The Park and Ride IS the Exhibitors Car Park as well as for use by the public. For the public the Park and Ride is £2 - Park all day and ride the bus.

Newhaven to Brighton is 35 minutes by car and the 12 should not take much longer.

The postcode for the racecourse is BN2 9XZ for those with Sat Nav.

Laurie, one reason why car traffic is gridlocked in the centre of Brighton is that the council have made excellent provision of bus lanes. I have relatives in Woodingdean and when I stay there I find the five mile bus ride to Churchill Square (main shopping centre) regularly takes only 15 minutes, and costs a mere £2.

One thing Brighton council have done well is organised the local bus services.

However I appreciate your state of health so it may be best if you contact the exhibition organisers and try to arrange parking at the centre.

The walk from the station is a reasonable distance for any one not in the best of health too.
The hill back to the station will make anyone out of breath.
£12 parking is a tad rich though, makes the alternatives worth looking for.
My suggestion would be drive to Hassocks, and train in from there.

I might come on the Saturday, in general its a good show.
