1.) A route with no steam possibilities makes TSW a no-go for me (and that's nothing to do with nostalgia: I'm not old enough to remember mainstream British steam!)
2.) The timetable does NOT truely reflect all workings: as others have mentioned, due to the lack of stock beyond the HST, 166 and 66, all other services not operated by those trains have been dropped from the WTT, and even some which are operated by them! How much harm would it have been to have included Greenford, Henley, Marlow and Windsor to add a bit of variety, and what about Brentford as a bit of extra freight? Extend to Didcot, and Oxford (OOO! I wonder which simulator used that as one of it's initial routes?!) and there's even more. Didcot may've required steam though, and of course 'steam routes don't sell'. Maybe make a few pre-BR ones, with a bit of colour, and they might!
All the best,

It would not be a good idea for DTG to make us wait. My team is also waiting for tools. TSW is slow in development as earlier days of RS. Only DTG guys knows why things are so late. I wonder making content for them is not so long and hefty process. DTG should give some answer for that. Also I see many negative feedback from user on TSW Steam. Very bad for company's reputation.

Definitely STEAM will be the best in graphics. All those steams vapours pouring out in smoky white colour... :D :D

I heard Matt say at some point, probably on his stream, that he can't just give us the tools that DTG are using as it would also require giving us DTG's code as well and that's not going to happen. I don't enough about UE4 to come up with some workaround to that but I'm sure there are other UE4 games with the equivalent of map, scenery and scenario editors.
Perhaps someone more knowledgeable could shed some light on that.

Hmmm, I don't know many other game developers that give customers editing tools for PC game like what Electronic Arts release, Madden NFL, NBALive, the F1 series, Battlefield 1, Need for Speed, Mass Effect Andromeda, for a start, even though they aren't on the UE4 engine, the philosophy is giving customers an out of the box game ready to play with no need for us consumers to poke around inside the inner workings, and it's been like that for years. Paul Jackson and his team have just carried that ideaology on into this Train Simulator World, making it primarily for XBox gamers who just want a 'plug in and play' game, it isn't for the real hard nut fanatical train hobbyist core group and was never likely to be, the major selling point is graphical quality, just like all those games I mentioned above, they all have superb graphics, Mass Effect Andromeda is staggeringly fantastic to look at, so it sells.
Cheerz. Transport Steve.

I'm not sure about that - there's been significant (marketing and development) emphasis on Simugraph and the possibilities it offers for realistic controls and physics too. I haven't bought TSW yet, but I gather that the number of working switches and controls, and things like start-up sequences, are up there with some of the best third-party locos for TS.

All this waiting is simply bad for the mood of some people. But there is nothing anyone can do about it.
There was some fanfare about DTG raising 1 Mio. or so for the creation of their own third-party asset swapping place. Now you have two principal options: 1) Declare them a failure, or false, or some other bad thing, without having any evidence. 2) Sit and wait for things to unfold.
Option 2 appears a bit unpopular, but this is mostly because you don't see those who don't post and don't even read forums and just wait until DTG announce their content creation tools loud enough.

Yeah, fraid TSW has come off my pc and it won't go back on until there's more on offer, even if that takes a few years! Have to say I was disappointed with the route choice as I had done it to death in TS so I was quickly bored after the initial novelty wore off, leave it to others to beta test TS2 beta.

DTG mostly ha focussed on Europe and USA contents.
What about us? If they can't make atleast we can make ourself.
I remember some best loco and route made by 3rd party for TS.

The route choice was a big disappointment indeed but still find it very enjoyable. Yeah, I agree, it gets boring quickly. I'm looking forward to what they'll announce for German content. But what they did, they did very well and it looks promising for the future.

Well that is certainly the case - there are plenty of of controls and switches to set, all in the right order! Although manuals and tutorials could sometimes do a bit of a better job explaining it all.
Still, that's what you've got forum help for!
Cheers,

Yeah Tim, but what will the German offering be? Another one we have in TS? Probably Munchen Augsburg, Done that to death too, pity they didn't consider something new as there's plenty to choose from, Germany is a big place. Here's an offering:

And yes Germany is a pretty big place, let's hope they select something new, and with more operating potential then just going back and forth, up and down the line!

I've always seen TSW GWR as an investment for the future. I tend to fancy completely different drives every time I log onto TS so I'm looking forward to TSW becoming more of a network of routes.
I have had a little tinker and what I've seen was impressive but won't bother to get to grips with it until I fancy a drive on the 166, For Express and Freight drives I prefer a long-haul so use Western Mainlines or the various ECML packs, the low def is more than made up by feeling of actually going somewhere.
