So definitely the GWML London - Oxford then... hopefully they'll include all the branchlines and go a bit further out than Oxford, maybe Swindon and Basingstoke. Nice to have the new one starting where RW started... we can all compare the two... except TSW will have overhead wires because the real thing does out to at least Didcot now. So stock will most likely be:
Class 43 HST
Class 800 IEP
Class 166 Turbo
Class 165 Turbo
Class 150 (If they go to Basingstoke)
Class 180 Adelante (I think they still run into Reading? But probably not often enough to be included.)
Voyager (XC Bournmouth - Newcastle, especially if they go to Basingstoke too.)
Class 450 (If they go to Basingstoke, and to sit at Reading)

The turbo could also represent Chiltern stock at Oxford...

Then for freight:
Class 66
Class 70

Hopefully the fact it's a modern route won't rule out a steam loco. There is the GWS at Didcot, and that would be a fantastic place to model fully in TSW! I think DTG realise that lots of Brits like steam locos, and they also realise that many won't buy TSW until one appears. I reckon their first steam locos will be the black five and 7F, if they keep up this 'return to roots' thing. If not, then can it please be a Castle.... please??!

Of course it could be a route set in the future after the turbos have been dispatched Westwards...

Great news if that's the case. I wouldn't hold your breath for all that stock in one shoot though! Plus I doubt we'll see OHLE yet - I reckon the route will be most likely modelled pre OHLE - but you never know!
Looking forward to it, although it may be time for the trusty i5 2500k to be replaced in order to run it with good frames - it's served me well over the past years though.

If it's London - Oxford then OHLE is definite: even in the old GWML (and indeed on the old real version!) there was OHLE as far as Hayes and Harlington.

It is surely the Great Western Mainline. The question is: will it really be London - Oxford?
Given the length of CSX heavy haul, it could be as well London - Reading or London - Didcot at best.
Though that would be LESS than the previous sim so it's not a very good showcase of a new sim.
What I really hope is either Oxford or Swindon as the route ends.
Given that heavy haul came with 3 locomotives, I would guess, HST, Class 800 and class 165/6

Fair play, my knowledge of these things isn't great. Anyway, I just noticed on FB that an announcement is being made tomorrow regarding this....

Interesting... then how long till release...
I reckon that the UK content is almost complete, and has been worked on alongside or very soon after the US content. They've used the US content to evaluate and test the simulation, so the UK stuff should be better. We should be close, and I for one am going to buy it...

Not necessarily London to Oxford...

My money's on Reading to Westbury, turbos still run on this route from Reading to Newbury/Bedwyn

I think the GWML is too busy for a first UK route, unless they've seriously improved the FPS since the CSX route was released

Someone has posted more than once that what is being assumed to be the side of a class 66 could also be the roof of Paddington station.

Either way, we'll learn more than the guessing game by tomorrow but DTG know how to drive specualtion well.

I think the most logical would be Paddington to Swindon,if they are going to include the OHLE,which seems logical new sim,and new era route, after all they will have to use OHLE as far as Hayes any way,for the Heathrow Express Trains, otherwise it will have to be pre1998,because that is when the Heathrow electric route opened.

The picture on Facebook shows a Class 166
https://scontent-lht6-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/ ... e=59FB1E7E

So having brought out a new Train Sim they give us a route which 99% of us have since TS12
It would have been nice to have created a route which was not already available with possibly some trains which are also not available - although there is not many we don't already have.

I suppose it was never going to make everyone happy, but by simply ignoring it and not buying you might (or might not!) put DTG off furthering TSW. Of course, they probably will anyway, but consumer support will help that. My preference was for a Southern Region route with lots of big green pacifics, but that's me! I'll probably get it anyway just to see what it's like for a British route. If they announce a steam loco within this route, whichever part of the Western Region it is, then I'm definitely in! It'll probably contain a copper kettle for railtours, Southall and the GWS at Didcot. Steam is important to train sim, and DTG are almost certainly going to include a steam loco sooner rather than later to draw in all those (normally including myself!) who aren't much interested in modern plastic things... that doesn't include HST's by the way...

I'm afraid steam routes were a later addition more than sooner, their first one was Exeter Kingswear that came out in 2015,so don't hold your breath for a quick release of a steam era route.

There are quite a few of us who would love to have a steam era route, doesn't mater what region,my preference would be a southern route say Waterloo to Basingstoke, or a Eastern Region route Liverpool St to Cambridge or Western Region Bristol to Gloucester. But I think I'm going to be in for a long long wait.

I reckon the next route for TSW will probably be a German Route.

What about the S&D which came with the original Rail Simulator and the Falmouth Branch and Woodhead routes which came out at least five years ago?!

I think it was inevitable that a modern route would be first, I would certainly have preferred a British Railways Steam/Diesel or British Rail route, however I am looking forward to the first British route and dipping my toes into TSW.

The next TSW route is almost certainly NOT German: a UK one is being announced tomorrow! Sadly it looks like it won't be steam era. Like Mike, my preference is Southern Steam. Waterloo - Bournemouth 1966-70 anyone?(The leccy rail was down in '66, and steam ended in '67.) Some filthy Bulleids with a mix of Green and MK1 coaches would look stunning!

Anyway, I guess we'll see what emerges tomorrow...
