As long as they cover routes not already done in TS in the first instance, there's tons of new routes that could be made before we see the same routes appearing that we have in TS.

Maybe York to Darlington or Newcastle could be a starter,you have all types,DMU's Voyagers, HST,Adelente,also the new Virgin Azuma,that comes under both diesel and electric heading.

Electric class 91 and possibly Class 90's( I've seen them at Peterborough on Virgin East Coast Trains),freight mostly class 66,although possibly class 60's and COLAS 56's.

Are there any First group EMU's on the route

Well, if they are going to do modern TOC multicoloured swap shop plastic EMU's, then, I won't be getting involved. We want something old to reflect Britain's heritage in railway building, etc, what about the Brunel Bridge at Saltash, or, the Royal Border Bridge at Berwick, we could have stately buildings such as Durham, or, York Cathedrals, dominating the skyline, etc, etc, we want freight shunting into industrial sidings, passenger trains on local stoppers, inter regionals and inter city crack expresses, but, we won't get this so why dream, and if DTG are doing it, they have been delayed by 2/3 months now by faffing about with patches for TSW, so, this Q3 2017 will now become Q4, so, a Christmas release, possibly, if we are lucky, another 5 months to wait, oh well, back to TS2017.

I think they will go for something modern less locomotives and stock needed,A EMU,A DMU, for stopping trains,A Azuma set,and HST for fast passenger trains,and a class 66 and some inter-model freight wagon.

I would like them to do a 70'/80's route but to many locomotives and coaches and freight wagons.

Route wise either Newcastle to York,at Newcastle you can have the Castle,Durham the Cathedral,York the station, or If you go Newcastle to Edinburgh, Newcastle the Castle again,Berwick the Royal Border Bridge, Edinburgh Carlton Hill, King Arthur's Seat, and the Castle for scenic interest.

My gut feeling is they are going to do either a Western or Eastern Region Mainline Route,and the main train will the class 800 Azuma,and freight loco either a class 66 and or a class 70.

The Valey lines would be a good route.
I was thinking Barry Island/Penarth - Treherbert/Aberdare/Merthyr Tydfil via Cardiff Central its about 50 miles all in, and a bit more interesting than Rhymney/Bargoed - Penarth.
The traction can be class 150/2, 143 & 142

Its a question mark with a TSW logo, so I assume the next DLC (which could be a UK route) is ready to be announced

I think it has to be a GWR HST, which means that it is likely to be one of the cotswold routes. Either Oxford to Worcester (57 miles and 90 minutes end to end), or Swindon to Cheltenham via Gloucester (42 miles and about 60 minutes end to end)

Both routes are operated by HSTs and are relatively quiet in terms of services, which makes an ideal route for TSW.

I think you're right on there, a HST is good as well for future routes of various eras, assuming we are supplied with a Valenta version too.

A HST would be great along with a decent stretch of 125 MPH running, enough of the dawdling along at less then 50 mph.

My guess is a GWR HST, though it could be an 800. Just because they've shown it bolted on doesn't mean it's definitely the intial GWR green HST, even the website logo appears to be bolted.

Cotswold line would be fantastic, but my reckoning is for a re-boot of GWML Paddington - Oxford, possibly to Swindon, but it would make sense. Hope I'm wrong, and they go for a non-electrified GWR route that is relatively easy to backdate. Some parts of the Cotswold line are still semaphore signalled, and Worcester Shrub Hill is a bit of a time capsule, with semaphores everywhere! Not a colour light in sight. Who's to say they're not doing the West Country? That gives options for freight traffic too! Exeter - Penzance with Branchlines? That'd be something! I just hope there's a small chance of a steam locomotive of some description being made available. Preferably (given my bias) something Southern, but I suppose something GWR would do. Then LMS locos are essentially naff, GWR Clones, or SR Clones. Unless they're beautiful Johnston ones, inspired by the GER. As for LNER post-grouping locos: forget it! Especially the big green one they call 'Flying Scotsman'.

Given the level of detail that goes into lineside buildings etc in tsw, I think we're looking at a much shorter route than those suggested. If it's London based then I don't think they'll go further than Reading, for example.

mmm so if it's a GWR HST I was right about it being Settle-Carlisle reworked-----complete with scenarios featuring a rail tour special from Devon.....
