Error #76

Good morning,
This is my 1st post on here and I'm pretty new to all this, so please bare with me.
When listing items used by individual scenarios, I get a list of rolling stock which allows me to check for missing stock and this works fine.
When I close that window and the scenery files are checked I get the following error :-
Error: #76 Path not found
Module: frmDelRoute
Procedure: CheckForFiles
I click on OK to close that window and another one opens that I hope I have attached to this message.
When I click OK to close that window the usual window opens up saying "There is no Scenery file with this scenario", even though I know there is.
None of this alters the running of the scenario as far as I can tell, but it is driving me mad.
This has happened for every scenario that I have checked over the last couple of days, before then it was working fine.
Any ideas?
Cheers Gary

That error isn't showing a missing file but one that RW Tools can't open; an error in (presumably) line 3.
Will that particular bile open in RW Tools' .ml editor?

The window in RW_Tools which says "When I click OK to close that window the usual window opens up saying "There is no Scenery file with this scenario" indicates that there is no extra Scenery file included with the Scenario in question.
Normally scenarios use the scenery files from the route for all of the tiles, but sometimes a scenario includes its own 'Scenery' files to include extra items not in the normal route, e.g. in the case where there is a track laying crew standing beside the track for just the one scenario in a route.

Good morning gptech,
Thank you for your reply, I'll try to do what you suggest when I next get the chance, it may be the weekend though. I'll let you know what happens.
Good morning Mike,
Thank you for your reply also. I think I understand about scenario specific scenery files and that some scenarios don't have them, but my query is why the error windows are appearing for every scenario I check when, until recently, this wasn't the case. Also, I'm pretty sure that the scenario in the example that I attached does have a scenery file.
Forgive me if I'm wrong and sounding confused, but like I said, I'm pretty new to this.
Cheers
Gary

I checked the scenario in question and it does not have a scenery file which is unique to that scenario. The message that there is no scenario file is not an error message, just a note from the program that it had not found any unique scenery files for that scenario. Error messages will include the word 'Error' in the title.
It would however appear that the Error 76 you got indicates a garbled file in your system and also someone has been fiddling with your route names as route in file 00000002-xxx should be named 'Somerset Dorset Joint Railway' and not 'Bath Green Park to Templecombe' so perhaps other things have been incorrectly edited?

Good evening,
A friend of mine is having trouble with his RW Tools installation, while trying to build a QD consist.
He has been getting the following Error 76 message:-.
Error. #76 Path not found. Module: frmAssets Procedure: SP_FileMatch
Does anyone know what might be causing this, and how to solve the problem?.
Thanks in advance.
Very Best Wishes,
Bob.

Hi Bob,
The error 76 you are reporting here is not while building a QD file, but rather it must have occurred when your friend was setting up an index file of all the rolling stock in his TS2017 setup. This has to be done from the Assets Editor before RW_Tools is able to include a list of all available rolling stock to enable the user to build a QD consist.
Error 76 occurs if an expected file is not found, so in this case it could have been any file in any of the Assets sub-folders. I will attempt to build a new index file here and see if I can replicate this error, obviously RW_Tools should handle this type of error cleanly and not lock up, so I need to fix it, but it can sometimes prove very difficult to work out exactly where this happens.

Hi Chris,
Is this happening while you are trying to construct an 'Index File' ? If so see my response to Bob, I will see if I can fix this.

I ran the indexing option yesterday, and it indexed around 7500 assets without any problems, so I am still trying to work out why this error is occuring. Will keep trying.
