I have a problem changing stock in consists using Edit Scenario. I am using RWTools 6.0.21 with Win7 64bit.
For example I start with a scenario for Abingdon route that includes stock I don’t have, In RWTools I clone it and RWTools correctly shows the expected path of the missing stock, D:\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\MDI\addon\railvehicles\steam\57xx\gwr5764\engine\57xx.bin
I find suitable alternative stock from the assets then swap the selected item say to a loco with path
D:\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\karma99\56xxPack\RailVehicles\Steam\56xx\5619\Engine\56xx BR.bin.
The swap appears to work ok in RWTools, I save the scenario but then in TS2015 the scenario does not load due to errors, Consist Builder – Can’t load rail vehicle 56xx 5619 BR Green Late Crest. I get similar error messages for each item of stock I have swapped-in to the scenario, not just the loco.
If I then check the broken scenario in RWTools I get a missing items report showing
D:\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\karma99\56xxPack\mapps\common\railworks\Assets\karma99\56xxPack\RailVehicles\Steam\56xx\5619\Engine\56xx BR.bin. and a similar report for the other stock I have swapped-in.
There is an extra "common\railworks\Assets\karma99\56xxPack\mapps\" included within the path for the swapped-in asset. This problem happens for any asset I try to swap-in to a scenario, but for all working scenarios the path of assets is correctly shown in RWTools, without the path corruption.
The path to my railworks.exe file in TS2015 is correctly set and shows as D:\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks
I get the same kind of error regardless of route/scenario/stock being swapped using RWTools, but if I swap stock within TS2015 using the scenario editor it works ok.
Any ideas please ?

Re: problem swapping stock in scenarios
Sorry Dave, I have no ideas on this one. Thousands of users have RW_Tools, mainly for swapping stock, and I have not had anyone query this in the past.Dspring wrote:I have a problem changing stock in consists using Edit Scenario. I am using RWTools 6.0.21 with Win7 64bit.

I don't have the Abingdon route, however, I swapped another loco with the 56xx in the Somerset route, and the result was as follows:-
<iBlueprintLibrary-cBlueprintSetID>
<Provider d:type="cDeltaString">karma99</Provider>
<Product d:type="cDeltaString">56xxPack</Product>
</iBlueprintLibrary-cBlueprintSetID>
</BlueprintSetID>
<BlueprintID d:type="cDeltaString">RailVehicles\Steam\56xx\GWR\Engine\56xx GWR.xml</BlueprintID>
Has any other user seen this type of error?

Re: problem swapping stock in scenarios
I had a similar problem to this with some reskins that I had moved out of the Kuju folder hierarchy and edited - this was when a large Kuju folder gave problems. Parts of the path were duplicated in the same way as here, and I could never work out why it happened to some of the substituted stock and not others. I just edited the bin files - search and replace is your friend - and got on with life.

Re: problem swapping stock in scenarios
Thanks Alan,
Unless someone can give me a complete rundown of what they have done to get this error, it is difficult to see how it can have happened. e.g. which buttons were pressed and in what order, then I might be able to see where a problem could occur.

Re: problem swapping stock in scenarios
Thanks Mike and Alan; I can see the way to eliminate the path corruption by editing the scenario.bin, but I've not been able to diagnose the cause yet. The swap function is unlikely to be failing it seems more likely to be something in my setup, I will continue to investigate and post again if I find anything. So far as my TS2015 install is concerned I have not made any changes other than normal installs, certainly no deliberate file structure changes and my use of RWtools has been straightforward as follows: Scenarios; Edit Scenarios; Edit selected Scenario; go thru Consists one by one looking for missing stock; Find available Stock; select stock type; start search either from Assets or from a specific provider if known; Select all; Pin selected (as I expect to need them again for further swaps); select stock to be swapped Out; select stock to be swapped In; Swap Selected Items or Swap all identical; repeat swaps for all remaining missing items in rest of the consists till all swaps are done; Save Changes to Scenario.

Re: problem swapping stock in scenarios
Hi Dave,
Thanks, maybe something wrong with my code for pinning items. Not many people use that option and that may be where the problem arises. I will have a look at that today.
Mike
P.S. Nope, I tried pinning items and had no problems swapping the pinned items.

Re: problem swapping stock in scenarios
I think that might be the place to look Mike - I seem to remember that I only got the problem when I had pinned the item. Most of the problems I had were with wagons where there was no Wagon sub-folder if that is any help. If you have them installed, have a look at some of the reskins of the Kuju 16 Ton mineral wagon in the folder Assets\Kuju\RailSimulator\RailVehicles\Freight\16TMineralWagon - Grey, Grey dirty, Grey old and Grey rusty are all like this, and gave me problems.mikesimpson wrote:Thanks, maybe something wrong with my code for pinning items. Re: problem swapping stock in scenarios
Hello,
I just register this board to tell about the *bug* and the solution. I got the same issue when I try to swap rolling stock but not every time. I found the bug with 2x path appends when I use Index File. But, if I choose Find Rolling Stocks or use the build in Explorer, it works fine. I noticed swap work if I got the picture of the choosen stock (or picture no picture). Use Index File did not show a picture and the swap fail due to double path.
PS : ScenarioProperties.xml looks good even with the bug. Hope it will help.
Sorry for my poor English.
