Dear Mike
Many thanks for providing such a marvellous Tool - and for its support.
I am regressing a route (WCML over Shap) to the early 1960s. Have successfully removed the electrification, and changed the track to Bath to Temp Old. I need to change the Road Lofts, but need some help. I have identified all the relevant lines of code for both the originals and the replacements. Will the Substitute Asset for Asset replacement work, or is there another method?
Best regards
Nick

I don't think I have ever done this successfully, as I found that substituted road items were often much narrower than the original roads etc so were difficult to place correctly.
However if you want to try on a clone of your route first, I would suggest you :-
1. Run Check Route
2. Click OK to view all scenery items
3. Select a road section you wish to substitute and tick the 'Substitute Existing Scenery item' box and on the screen that comes up, select the 'Road Item' box and fill in the 'Substitute with this Asset' box and see if it works.

Re: Road Loft replacement
Hi Mike
Many thanks for the speedy reply. I have a clone of TestTrak that I use for testing items, so will use that - laying down an original road, and then attempting to replace it. The route I am working on is ~1.5GB, so would take some time to clone, and then Check Route. Will let you know the results.
The replacements will, in the main, be the same road profile, with the traffic being 1950s rather than 2000s. On another WIP, I have changed existing roads by using the offset tool (about 1m to one side) to lay the new road, remove the original, use the offset tool (about 1m to the other side) to lay the new road, then remove the first set. A long process, but successful - useful when new types of road are published by the community.
best regards

Re: Road Loft replacement
Hi Mike
Managed to replace the roads using the substitute asset tool, though not all were replaced the first time (had to perform the task three times). I then tried the platforms - all changed from 2000 to 1950 first time - result!
I am having some problems with the delete asset tool. Sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. For example, tried to lose all the ProSignalHeads-ProBufferLights. No luck. NS magnets & solar panels - no problem. And so on. It certainly opens all the tiles to check, but whether there is a deletion.......
Many thanks
Nick

Re: Road Loft replacement
Hi Nick,
Signal heads are considered part of the track network and they are included in the Tracks.bin file for the route. You should be able to swap them in the same manner as swapping track sections.
On the other hand signal gantries are scenery items.

Re: Road Loft replacement
Hi Mike
Thanks - all Buffer Lights removed. I assumed that they were like the gantries, as they did not have a link to the track. Will plough on with the project. Now most of the deconstruction has been done, I can start on the constructive phase, putting back the lifted track and infrastructure, such as the MPDs.
Best regards
