problem with download page

Post by MisterWho »

Mike,
FYI, there seems to be a problem with the RW_Tools download page on your website. It's very slow to load, giving the impression that the page is empty, then finally comes up with a "page not found" message (or something in that vein). It also, for some strange reason, always asks if I want to download a .PDF file, even though I haven't clicked on any links ...

Hope that helps,
regards, and thanks once again for your wonderful tools,
moi

Sadly I'm new here and having a problem with the download page, it loads 'ok' but I can only see a donate button and no actual download link :(

Tried Chrome and IE11

Sorry peeps panic over, the PDF looked to me like a screenshot from the manual, it was so small it was unreadable. Once zoomed I could read the download link!

New way of doing things to me, why embed in a difficult to read file?

Hi All,

I changed the design of the page so that the bottom section is a scrollable list of downloads - this is actually a .pdf file, which should appear automatically if you have Acrobat Reader correctly installed, which I assumed most users would have. This layout made it much easier for me to update the page as required.

If a lot of users can't read the page though, this is obviously going to be a problem, I will see if I can improve the page again.

Meanwhile, you can download RW_Tools full version from http://www.rstools.info/downloads/RW_Tools_Full.zip and the latest patch from http://www.rstools.info/downloads/RW_Tools5073.zip

I have rewritten the downloads page - you should be able to access it OK now but may need to press F5 on the page to see the latest version.

Thanks Mike I think that's much better. However, with your explanation, I can see where you are coming from with the PDF idea.
