Hi everyone.
Every time I use the RWTools backup tool, I'm unable to launch Train Simulator afterwards. If I launch the software, it''ll crash immediately. The only way around I found is to repair the TS installation through Steam, and it's a long operation
So if you have any hints of where the problem comes from, and more important how to solve it.
Thanks in advance
Lionel

I assume the 'Files/Backup TS2014' option in RW_Tools - I can't understand where this would cause any problems to TS2014 as it simply copies the Content and Assets folders plus some other folders to wherever you picked as your backup path in the Options menu. As this is only a copy process, no changes whatsoever are made to TS2014 itself?
In any case, I would recommend that you use Microsoft's SyncToy backup program combined with the scheduler to make backups. I will remove the backup options from RW_Tools as these are now too slow for modern large routes etc.

Re: TS crash after backup using RW Tools
Hi Mike, and thanks for your answer.
I tried with the backup tools of my NAS, for the same result. There's definitively some something getting wrong with backups, and probably more in the system part. Could it be the software changing something in the properties of the files, chang that TS doesn't like?
At least, I'll stop trying to automate backups: it's too long waiting a whole night for downloading TS...
See you
Lionel
