Filter by train incorrect after swapping stock

Post by danwatto »

Hi,

Once I've swapped the player controlled train in RW Tools and saved the scenario it works fine.

But to find the scenario it's still filtered (in the game) by the old train name, not the new one.

How can I use RW Tools to also change the type of train that the scenario is filtered under?

Many thanks

This filtering was a new feature in TS2014, RW_Tools was written before it existed.

To change things will need a big software re-write which may/may not happen any time soon.

I'm not arguing (just explaining why I'm right).

Ah ok no worries.
Does anyone know what I would have to edit if I want to change the filter?

Try opening the scenario in the games own scenario editor, add a loco, wagon or coach, immediately delete that addition and save. This should force the game to re-index and show the new drivable stock in the menus.

Do you know what this changes?

I'm looking for the file I need to edit, I would rather script this as it's already a pain to keep editing so many scenarios that I rather do it outside the game as the game is rather slow.

No idea exactly what it alters to change the listing---possibly the cache in the Contents folder but it's hardly slow. As you've edited a scenario in order to play it only takes 10-15 seconds to drop into the editor when you load the scenario up and force the change.
