I believe both the UKPro Signals, and Just Trains Modern Signals (JTMS) have Theatre Box type indicators available for builders, but as I am using the JTMS because it can indicate platforms into double figures, the question I have is about this latter set.
Is it possible, (having spent several hours...no make that several frustrating hours trying), to have a signal with one theatre box facing forwards and another 'connected' back to back, but reading the same script, so both indicators would show the same...be it 1, 2, or even up to 16.
The reason I ask is this. Having replaced the default track on the (much expanded) copy I have of the BR era Peterborough-York, I am in the throws of replacing the default kuju signalling for the more functional JTMS signals.
When York was re-signaled in 1951 & up to the rationalisation of the track work there 40 or so years later, the main signals featured a backwards facing indicator as well as the normal one either above or mounted at the side of the normal colour aspects.
Is it possible to replicate this, as I have done with signals Y38, Y31,Y32 & Y34 on the approach to Holgate Bridge, using a separate Theater Box but that requires more links in an already crowded track layout. If the option above were possible, the signal with twin front & back facing theatre boxes would thus half the number of required links.
So do the sage's on here have any tips that could possibly make this work. I have, as I say, spent most of the day trying various permutaions in a test signal bin file. (In this case it's Y38 controlling the exit from Holgate Sidings). The Theatre Box installed with the colour lights works OK.....I can even get a second Theatre Box to appear but there seems to be no apparent way - unless I'm missing something, of getting the scripting to work with two Theatre Boxes at once.
Cheers,
Yamsi

Re: JTMS back to back theatre box indicators
I've cloned the original York to Peterborough route too and have nearly completed replacing the Kuju signals with the JTMS ones, and this was something I meant to look at. I had thought that maybe making a clone of the desired signal with the right number of links and then adding a second theatre box child object might be the way to do it.
Expanding the TS wagon fleet.

This will certainly work when you duplicate the calls to SetText or ActivateNode and make the duplicate refer to the new child.malkymackay wrote:I've cloned the original York to Peterborough route too and have nearly completed replacing the Kuju signals with the JTMS ones, and this was something I meant to look at. Which of the two is needed depends on how the signal is set up - it will be easy to spot these calls in the script.
